Got your point...and it's not harming anything as such...my network team found this and they wanted to know more about it... On 11-Feb-2016 11:19 pm, "cnorborg" <

Hi venh.123 I was just trying to re-create this issue in my Lab. I was able to add via IP address even though there was no DNS entry. Thought of just updating you... if we do via hostname, it doesn't allow.
-
i had faced this few times and its more to do with DNS... if there is no record in DNS, solarwinds doesnt allow u to add the device.. so i tried doing a host entry and it worked.. Although this would be bad idea for large number of nodes....
-
i was referring to iLO version 2 or 3. iLO4 i am aware... infact i just added one and able to see the hardware details...
-
just like how you are using other actions for email and color, you also have option to tag the trap which means u can give some text and value will be shown for the tagged traps...
-
These are not the alerts that we create.. there are certain events that solarwinds itself is logging...u can also check in your console under events tab and u will observe that not all events are alerts created by you.
-
I just remembered, u need port 5989 as well. Below link for reference: Hardware monitoring and VMware
-
RichardLetts what kind of account did you create for this? Did the non admin creds work and was able to authenticate from Solarwinds? We are having tough time with one of the customer who is not willing to allow connection to DNS inspite of informing no changes will be performed apart from the entry being created for HA...

Great... Thanks a lot for confirming
-
Perfect.. thanks for confirming.. saves a bit of time as direct download is not allowed...

did u find any resolution from support?
-
can you keep us posted once you find the resolution? I am also seeing something similar...

does availability group provide automatic failover? And will Solarwinds understand which is active among the group since while configuring the DB, we would enter only 1 IP or hostname of the SQL server. OR it will be combining the AG with FCI...? I went through the links which HerrDoktor mentioned earlier and thats why i…

Thanks RichardLetts Query ran successfully for the monitored object... i am in process of doing lot of testing and will let u know if i come across any issue... I will check from which IP address the trap was coming.... Wanted to know another point here... we have Palo Altos and Riverbed devices for one our proj and they…

@"aLTeReGo" getting this error: and how abt the other query i asked earlier for VIP showing under Agent settings page...
-
@"aLTeReGo" Thanks for that info. But I also see that when we go to manage agents for manualy deploying agent, the IP address shown is thr VIP so that means we need to manually put the active member IP?
-
Hi @"aLTeReGo" I am seeing another strange thing.. when i try to deploy the agent, that device shows 100% packet loss and agent never gets deployed itself.. this is happening for 2 different customers.. any idea why this could be happening?
-
serena have you got more information from VMware on this?
-
i just tried this, but did not work:
-
aLTeReGo Sorry i wasnt clear in my earlier statement. I know the path will go into that place where u mentioned, but if u look at the screenshot then the file that gets generated has a date change everytime so its not unique.. So in this case, how do i mention the path till the text file?
-
anyone came across this?
-
i was referring to something like this:
-
Thanks. 1. Also my VM team is asking that- They cannot create IP Pool as only 1 IP is given to deploy the appliance. So is it mandatory to reserve some IP or to create IP pool to use in Vapp? 2. If they go with other way of disabling the Vapp option from VM properties, IP config set during deployment will not work. So they…

Just to update, in my case it was NTP sync issue... Once we resolved that, this stopped happening...

From what I seen, during the Orion Installation, I could connect to the SQL Server itself right? Yes, you need to select the Standard installation option which is the second one... Lets see. I heard for Netflow the installation process could differ? Yes, but more in terms of how you size your server Do I need to create a…
-
thanks for letting everyone know.. please post your updates here once u hear from VMware...
-
this is a bug at Vmware side so not sure when they would resolve.. Regarding disabling of CIM polling, not sure...@serena any thoughts?
-
Hi Malik, Past 1 week we have had similar issues. Web console goes into non-responsive state for some time and then after recycling IIS services or restarting Orion services, everything returns to Normal. In event logs, i see same error related to event id 4001 and 0. Also on random day the memory utilization goes high. We…
