Yes even we have seen similar symptoms. Memory shoots up to 90% for a day and then again its normal. In one case that i had raised, they found these things: 1. In collector directory, there are some duplicate entries which could cause problem when business layer loads. Need to remove the duplicate entry, 2. The netperfmon…

for your query on time, it will always show 12 am to 12 am if you have specified that way.. it cannot show as 11.59 PM... for that you need extract report in per min basis which will be for a very short duration...

what all modules do you have? are u planning to monitor only via agent?
-
rschroeder jamison.jennings I had opened a case for this and got to know that only steps required for this is to just go to IIS manager and edit the bindings. As per the engineer the KB mentioned abt updating DB is not applicable for latest version. Has anyone come across the same?
-
Thanks for the input ppl.. let me check...first i need to figure out for Certificate...and then i can go ahead with the available steps in the manual
-
anyone?
-
can u share the screenshot of alert that you setup? This can help in checking why the alert did not trigger.
-
Was there any upgrade done? Maybe u can try to re-create the report and see if its giving the same output.
-
One question, license is expired or reached the socket limit? I think it should stil allow you to add the device in solarwinds if u have other modules licenses...
-
anyone faced this error?
-
are u seeing any other logs which is causing the service to go into stop state?
-
Yes there are many points related to this topic in thwack..
-
Hi Alex, When u monitor using agent, swap and other space is consolidated into 1 component so u dont find it under List Resources...
-
The data gets stored in your Solarwinds DB but again depends on your retention settings plus the DB maintenance as well which runs daily. Lot of indexing happens locally plus the settings defined by DB admins.

Check this link: Details on Solarwinds MIB Even we had some issues while integrating to other tool. There are basic MIB files available on SolarWinds Customer Portal which you can import it to the other tool you are integrating. The above link should help.

Hi, You can download it from the community itself. Just go to Product Forums tab and traverse to the respective Product and check for documentation. You will be able to download it.

events view and all alerts triggered would be the first... Next you can check for the devices that had issue and check using performance analysis(PerfStack) view so in 1 shot you can drill down for all metrics in a specific window... You can also keep an eye on the unmanage window if there was any schedule in place...…

I have seen this happening but i guess only on the Orion web console the alerts are seen again. I have not seen the email/trap action being executed when we modify and submit it.
-
it would be good idea to check the timeout settings. Maybe its not having sufficient time to reach the end machine and get the response back...
-
this can be achieved by enabling traps from the device end towards Solarwinds server... then that trap can be converted into an alert
-
just to know sayalirevalkar -- did you manage to go ahead with DB mirroring? If yes, were there any faults or issues found?
-
We have had 2 instances when this request was discussed... for 1 of our customer we have gone with the SQL Always on and it works the way Raul mentioned above. For other customer, our consulting team is suggesting VMware HA solution so this doesnt involve anything at Solarwinds level and everything is taken care at VMware…

You can make a copy and give a different name and limit to users who should have rights. If it's a common view then I guess there is no option. Instead u can give them sepeate view if its not much work.
-
you can try to force any existing alert and see if there is something wrong...also log files would help..
-
Anyone?? These error codes are showing up: 0x80041013 0x80004005 0x80070005 I checked all the access for the account being used for WMI polling, everything is given but still no luck in making this work....
-
There is an alert which can set on your poller if its not alive for x minutes. This will help u keeping a watch on it. Also u can monitor the Solarwinds services if u have SAM plugin. OR u can monitor it using other tool if u have in your enviroment
-
Sorry all i think my earlier response went wrong... I understand that if the primary polling engine is down, then the monitoring of nodes from that particular engine will not happen. But how abt the other engines? and will the alerting work for these?

I faced issues twice in last week where the web console was not accessible and got 503 Error. In logs i also found DB connectivity issues which according my DBA team was a glitch. Also saw w3wp reference in the logs... Restart of either server/IIS service resolved the issue. But is there any permanent solution?
-
can u explain the requirement like what is it going to help if this integration is done?
-
for storage monitoring, u will have to SRM module available. This link will give u details about SRM: Storage Resource Monitor Through SAM i dont think we can monitor it,
