any new KB released on this?
-
This is the default event which gets logged... U need to configure alert for node down then you will be able to see the description u mention as part of the alert.
-
did u try the Simulate option? that also provides same functionality where in it will forcefully send the email trigger or the action that u simulate on.
-
The most likely issue will be the variable not supported for the version in place.... or there will be an issue with the DB connectivity from Main poller...for DB connectivity u can check the Solarwinds logs in the event viewer... U can also check the time frame when this happens, it could be intermittent....

this thread might also help: Trap issues after NPM 11.5 update

I guess you should check with your Exchange Team once if there is any blockage. We had come across a situation where emails were not getting sent and later found that there was some problem from their end.

You can try killing the process if its showing up in task manager even after stopping it. And then give a start...

-
did u select the correct unit while creating the alert?
-
During the maintenance window, do u still data to be collected? If answer is NO, then u can put a unmanage schedule so that u dont have to manually manage them...
-
this happens some times...just try refreshing the page... Also is your Orion server having enough resources?
-
is the agent communication/SNMP working fine on the device?
-
you can use Top XX disk space resource for this... it is be default available under Home-> Top 10
-
just wanted to confirm, Solarwinds can be installed on any version of OS right? By version i mean Standard, Enterprise and Datacenter. In the document i dont see any specific mention so...
-
yes it will be sensor based and not overall node based...
-
Also I observed that this is happening for ESX's which are being polled via Vcenter. I changed for few from Venter to directly ESX host and the option of 'cpu and mem' in list resources is not disappearing. But still I would like to know the real reason behind this? is this is a bug or something else...
-
I think it does, as the application is attached to a licensed node....
-
have you added the device in solarwinds for which you are sending test traps?
-
what error are u getting?
-
what is the issue that u are facing exactly? Not able to monitor a device using SNMP OR its specific to NCM?
-
has anyone been successful in using F5 load balance feature for Solarwinds HA? We are in a situation where customer is not willing to provide access to DNS to configure HA pre requisites... And they mentioned about using F5... but i am not having clarity if this provides till application level... so any details would help…

You can create account limitation for a View by selecting the nodes required. Give admin rights overall in each plugin.
-
can u paste a screenshot of any 1 device with the issues u are mentioning?
-
Full name variable should help you...
-
best way would be to have dependencies created in Solarwinds so that it doesnt send alerts for all events.
-
if you have not tried to export locally from the server then try that, it works.. remotely sometimes it doesnt work, not sure why...i had faced this issue once....
-
You can download the admin guide from thwack itself..under product forums u will find it.
