Hi, If you want to show the device also as down when SNMP is not responding, then u can change polling type from ICMP to SNMP from list resources option and make changes to your node down alert accordingly. U mentioned about the query to check on SNMP not responding nodes- can u post or attach it here if possible?
-
anyone?
-
Interface status will have lot of options... are u sure that you need to alert on all the status? And if u are getting alerts frequently then you can try to put a wait time...
-
can u provide more details? By elements what are you looking for.
-
Hi vinay.by Even i did see this in my evaluation version. Thought its something else... but it disappeared for me as well after a while and showed correct value...

There is default alert available under Manager alerts which you can utilize for hardware sensor alerts. Else you can create your own based on the conditions required. Ex: Create a hardware health alert for power supply issues - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support
-
which version are you on?
-
Check this Device SNMP Version Report
-
issue is with the permission of the account at DB level.. you would have to check that once... and point your Solarwinds to listener name or IP address i would suggest so that application doesnt have to check which node is online... We have a similar setup but with an addition of Windows cluster in place for SQL Always ON

Are your tunnels part of any device that you are monitoring? If yes, then is it showing the status correctly? If you have set up any alert then please share the screenshot here
-
please move this thread to NPM to get faster response...

I was able to discover the CPU, memory, interface and hardware details via Onboard administrator. It wont show till blade level and thats understandable as for that we need to do via iLO. For now, all looks OK...
-
Cortex related errors are for PerfStack.. Probably something has gone wrong with that...
-
Would still like to know other's input on this... As per the link shared by cjfranca i understand that something would have wrong in IIS process for the request and receive part.
-
you can copy the same settings from trigger action to reset action... just modify the threshold as per ur need.
-
any other solutions?
-
are you referring to migration of existing to new setup? i am asking this becoz u have mentioned abt licensing..
-
6.7 has a bug from VMware end.. they are yet to resolve it and supposed to be in the next release but no updates... We have most of the hosts on 6.7 and as an alternate we are doing hardware monitoring via ILO by setting SNMP on it....
-
is the same account configured for all servers? If yes, then it should not be solarwinds issue... You will have to check the ports and WMI permissions for the account...coz if its working for 1 then it should work for others as well...
-
Congratulations... Yes i had same feeling of some questions when i gave exam for NPM...
-
have you added those devices in Solarwinds? If not then only SNMPv2 enabled devices will be visible.. SNMPv3 enabled one's, you will have to added in Solarwinds to get the traps...
-
1. You have 2 options.. in web console there is a tab under events called traps where u can see the incoming traps.. OR u can also login into the server where solarwinds is installed and launch Trap viewer from there. 2. If its not receiving then u need to check at the device end if the traps have been directed to correct…

You can also try setting up a application monitor and alert on it .. If the Linux devices are being monitored via SNMP then you can set up a process monitor which will allow you to see the damons and you can select the one;s you need to monitor..
-
Thru NPM, u can monitor your servers which will provide the basic parameters like CPU, memory disk, any connected ports etc... and the licensing of this will be same like NPM.. Ex: if u have a server with 4 drives on it then it will consume for 4 drives+ 2 for memory(physical and Virtual). But if u want to get detailed…

i am also looking for some support on the HP Network devices.... specially on the hardware piece...

aLTeReGo One basic question when monitoring Linux device via agents...we get 2 options when we list resources right- one is ICMP-Fast Ping and other Status & Response time Agent... I would like to know when will the device show as down if Status & Response time Agent option is selected...
-
Hi aLTeReGo Can agents be deployed on Linux appliances? We have 2-3 machines are Linux flavors but are appliance based setup and there is very limited CLI based support of it... So just wanted to know if you have come across any such scenarios...
-
Hi aLTeReGo One query... 1. If we poll through agent for the Linux flavors then we will still be able to get the hardware information? 2. Secondly how is the calculation of memory parameter done when we poll via agent? Can you break this up in terms of whether its done overall or excluding free, cache etc...

Hi, 1.What about the reporting features of SAM? Ca we extract performance/availability reports from SAM for a certain period?- Yes you can extract reports for any time period 2.Does SAM has its own event console or EOC is the only option?-- Event console is common irrespective of modules you are using.. what exactly are…
