Then i would suggest you try agent based monitoring for 1 VM and see if that meets your requirement
-
okay.. have u tried agent based monitoring? Coz this is more recommended for Linux devices. Else you would have to use the script monitor available in SAM template and append the exact script which will give the memory utilization...

Hi anushkashanitha There is no coding required for this... Just add the action for Netperfmon event log and you can specify the variables you want to get written to DB. For ex: Below alert is there in my sys for group status down. So if ur alert trigger condition is set then u just need to set one more action. If u want…

Thanks aLTeReGo So it will report based on what the 'free' command has it on the Linux device end. For instance if there is a need to use a formula given by the admins then can that be made possible using the script monitor or via any SAM template? Net-SNMP part i am clear, it will include the reserve space as well. That…

I think this should work for me...didn't know that stat Collection and polling method variables are also available. Thanks a lot :-) I will try this and let you know....
-
cant comment on whether it can be or cannot be.. guess someone else may be able to put some light..
-
yea thats true....newwer version could bring new issues. Its always good to test it and move to Prod and only if the new functionalities are required.
-
the event that u are referring is something which Solarwinds generates for most of the conditions like device down, port down etc. Have you created an alert and created an email action? If you have already created then is there any wait time that you have kept before the alert triggers? And did u validate if your SMTP…

from other source if its working, thats different thing... did u try changing the community string and test and what is timeout setting for SNMP set to?
-
There will be multiple threads related to this.. so would suggest to review and device which one suits best to you.. If u dont want to retain your old data then its very simple....

I didnt understand the "upgrade my other products" part.. you have your plugins on the same server or different?
-
take a look at this: What is a Trap Template? - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support If u want to play around more with default trap template then you will need Engineer Toolset plugin.. but based on your query i dont think you would require.. As Vinay pointed earlier, carry out some testing with the help of your…

Hi RichardLetts Just curious to know, you are monitoring the Aruba Wireless AP via SNMP? If so, is it giving most of the required metric by default OR requires custom pollers to be setup.
-
HI Malcolm, Are u seeing any errors in the logs for the DB connection or any other which talks about this timeout. I guess its not able to fetch the data. Retention settings have been changed by any chance?
-
are you using default integration which Solarwinds provide OR different method?
-
it could be an issue with the device having packet loss, u might want to check that.. and also paste the trigger condition here if possible..it will be easier to understand...
