Not sure if this is lucky or just back luck that turned out ok. We had a manager that took a VMWare class. Trying to be proactive, he was deleting snapshots in Snapshot manager. Unfortunately, he removed the base snapshot and wiped out a very important print/file share for the company. Our only resort, rely on tape backups…

Great write-up. I loved connecting with Solarwinds employees and some of the users that make THWACK awesome at SWUG. To be honest, the Solarwinds columns of #CLUS was probably my favorite, and definitely the highlight of my trip.

We just went from a 7K environment to a 9K distributed architecture (Spine and Leaf). Management of the devices is a lot nicer. The cabling is a lot easier to manage with only a few strands of fiber between each rack now. It is a very wise move to get the 9Ks (We did the 93180YC and 9332PQ).

I was gone for two days and I came back to some confusion in resets. I tried to answer questions again but I was given X's in return. Not too worried about last week at this point. It was a X kinda week for me. Looking forward to mixing it up with peers this week at THWACKCamp!.
