OK that's good to know. Thank you. I will give this ago

I never got this working. It seemed to hard in the end. Now with 10.1 out, does anyone know if there is now an easier way to do this? Thanks

With your log files you have to search text for your error message and then set few lines just before it to "message" variable. When you say "set few lines just before it to "message" variable" this is a static string that I am entering directly into the script isn't it? It's not dynamically pulled from the log file?

Thanks it would be great to add this in to future versions. I'm trying to make it work using the UnDP but I'm having difficultly. Probably because I'm not sure how to use UnDP too well. For example for the disk monitoring I have about 6 OID's to monitor and it appears I need to create one for each. Can you not have…

OK I might be getting a bit closer. I've created the UnDP with the OID I believe is correct and I have the graph displaying with all the volumes. The bit that doesn't seem right is the figures are incorrect. Take the C drive for example. This server has a 30GB C drive with around 12.5GB still available. But the storage…

Yep that worked. Thanks for your help

Set message = "part of your log file" I think this is where it won't work for me. I was hoping to be able to include a few lines prior to this message occurring, which will not be the same every time. I think my best bet will be to try to attach the log file using a different method which is called from the script.

I see the IIS workaround is referring to Server 2008. Can a similar process be used fro Server 2003?

Well in the case of the screenshot above, I'm trying to do SNMP monitoring on physical hardware for our servers. In this case I'm monitoring physical disks using the HP OID for disks. If the return value is 2, there are no issues with the physical disks on the server. But if the return value is not equal to 2, there is…

P.S. I understand this is a lot of work for a report that is simple to do in many other NMS systems. SolarWinds has some work to do on Orion in the Graphing and Reporting arena but they are aware and I have confidence that they will improve those systems. Sure is a lot of work for something that you would think would be…

Hmmm that might be alright for what we are after. I didn't see that was there. Is there such a graph available that you can see disk space remaining (rather than percentage)?
-
I'm interested in this also. Did you work it out?
-
Can you explain returning part of the log as "Message" field? How would I do that? The text that I would need to return from the log file will possibly be different each time. It wouldn't be static text (ie the errors could be caused by many things) Thanks
-
Are you referring to the workaround solution within IIS?
-
Thanks for that. That is very close to what I'm after. How do I lock down the query to be 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday? Sorry I'm no good with SQL.
-
Yeah I tried that but it didn't work (the credentials didn't work). Does it have anything to do with the virtual center server already being configured as a Windows server in Orion? Should I be removing it and re-adding it back in?

Using the Universal Device Poller would be ideal. I'm wanting all disk volumes to appear on one graph. Except trying to find out OID information I would need to use is the challenge. Is there an easy way of knowing the OID for the part I'm after? The Custom HTML resource seems to work for me. However the Custom HTML I have…

Here is a screenshot. See where the drop down list is, there is no 'not equal to'

Can anyone assist with this?

Can anyone assist with this? I have the report but would prefer a graph for disk trend? Thanks
