I agree, we should not have to purchase the a full tool set to fix OIDs in MIBs.

I'll try this out and get back to you, but I think you hit the nail on the head of what I'm trying to do. Thank you so much for your response.

Yeah I figured the IP but you telling me that you are able to get everything out of v9 or IPFIX that is not just the information from the v5? If so I commend you and want to know how you got all the other nonkey data to be accepted.

Thanks Richard for the quick response. Much appreciated.

The answer is yes and no, if there is something that it needs to send a syslog about then yes. I have syslog on the server set to send all logs except debugs so it should have sent something even though it was a minor alarm. So I'm kinda stuck trying to figure a different way to monitor the power supplies so we don't run…

I will say this is disturbing. flow exporter NetFlow-to-Orion destination 10.10.10.10 source vlan254 transport udp 2055 export-protocol netflow-v5 <-- Why are we still using netflow v5? Very dated version of this protocol.

I agree and disagree with you. I found something in Solarwinds that can make these OIDs english but you do have to pay for it. It is in the Solarwinds Engineering ToolSet. Once I have an actual and final answer I will post it so everyone can make use of it and how I changed it to say something that people who did not study…

I found what I was looking for. I apparently put this in the wrong place. It was under IPAM that was causing the heartache and once I switched the IP's to stop polling it fixed it.

It does change the index that is why it is so difficult to find a monitoring solution that knows how to keep track of these IPSec site to site tunnels. It truly is a pain.

I think that everyone should by now know if you are not including Netflow v5 in your information from Cisco you will not get anything. Netflow v9, IPFIX and Cisco FnF(Flexible NetFlow) do not adhere to this. What they do is send templates when the data is being exported and in said template is a lot of customizable data…

Thanks much appreciated

I'm taking your config and re-doing it as you have a lot of redundant information there. Only use one source, most routers and switches will not allow you to have more than one. So pick the one that Orion is using to monitor the device. This configuration should work for you just fine. I configured netflow on cisco router…
