The crazy part is I heard the Good Eats theme tune in my head reading the question.

If I'm looking at the job we have running in our environment correctly, it does give an error message if it fails to connect - we're just using default settings. For the configs cut off, you might want to look under NCM settings -> Config Settings and see what Config Min Length is set to. If network conditions are causing…

Is it sad or disappointing that I would not be surprised if Cobol was added for support in SolarWinds?

All I can say is that my organization loves me and my team by saying "Okay, you get to make your own 24x7 team that we never had before." My only response: "But sir, I've only worked here a month. And I have no experience in building a team from scratch." I can honestly say, though, that I am appreciative of my managers…

I say emailing IS staff directly rather than through the official system counts in this case, so I am officially saying 3 - Teams channels, official tickets, and then directly calling staff even though they have been given the explanation of why tickets are so important for everyone.

I enjoyed my Lite-Brite, but after not being able to find where certain colors went in the living room, I wished that I also had a tackle box or a pill organizer as well.

I do have a question, being someone that is actively pursuing an NPM as well as Troubleshooting. Compared to Pearson Vue, what extra did PSI require of candidates? I've never really had a clear answer.

Exactly why I said that. XD My hardware professor in college, who has decades of experience on me, was surprised that we had Cobol material in the storage area for the classroom when we were cleaning it out. Also came across a Braille printer as well.

At least punishing or putting these guys in jail would have an effect. Lego don't care. They like punishment.

Would love one in Chicago, or Indianapolis... maybe during the month of May in Indy?

aLWAYS A JOY - oops, sorry. Always a joy to play these!

Congrats MVPs!

More native integrations and more granular control over user's access. We have some team members that contribute to multiple teams, which require us to use incredibly-specific, one-use-case groups that get lost in the mix. In some cases, we can't build the group because of the need to use multiple device groups, which…

XD And there's a Millennial out there for every one of those that didn't listen when his parents said it was time to go to bed, watching the show. RIP Bob Saget.

Let me ask a clarifying question: are you meaning that the config backups are cut off or that random lines are missing?

Trying to get the DBA team to email me back about what they would like to monitor in AppInsights.

Is it weird that the blank "Good job!" message on Day 13 is way more comforting than the "we're sorry to tell you that you failed" message from Cisco when I took my CyberOps exam on Monday?
-
Eh, it's getting there. The problem is the alert duplication that we're working through. 6 different alerts to say that something is down and using hard-coded emails, emails to individuals at that.
-
Colleague and I are in the same boat, with a platform that was maintained by best efforts. Lots of duplication too, and we're trying to work on how best to streamline. If anyone has any suggestions on how to make the move to new alerting structure less painful, I am all ears and will owe food/drinks if we ever meet.

Seeing the 4 red marks I have already this month, it's starting to sound like I need to review database concepts. Does anyone have any good resources to recommend?
-
Yes you do! Thank you @"zennifer" And the mask arrived yesterday... already having fun

I am currently running into this issue as well. Particularly, we're encountering issues where maps being displayed in a NOC are about 15 minutes behind in updating.
-
Thank you for the hint!!

Awesome, thank you very much!

I do have to bow my head to the venerable Nerf Blaster, but when you're 8 years old with a big enough Super Soaker that requires a shoulder strap, you tend to remember that for the rest of your life.

I'll take a double triple Bossy deluxe, on a raft, 4x4 animal style, extra shingles with a shimmy and a squeeze, light axle grease, make it cry, burn it, and let it swim.

Yes. Primarily NetPath, but the answer is yes. It's always Network's problem until it isn't Network's problem.

Everyone, maybe it's more appropriate to say, the database has spoken. (snuffs the torch) Time to go.
