Gotcha. We are in sync now. Thanks.

Another option would obviously be to do this as a report. However, I can;t seem to find the variable that would allow me to set the time frame. Do you know what Category and Variable I need?
-
Great. Thanks for the help. It worked fine. Now, how would I do a similar thing for interfaces that have not passed traffic in a certain number of days? I think I will use In_TotalBytes and Out_TotalBytes, but what would the date/time stamp part of the query look like?

pardon me for jumping in here. but I have an additional question about the term Transient. I noticed that one can select an IP address and choose the Transient status from the Set Status menu. What is really being accomplished when you do that? If the user designates a status as Transient, is that permanent or can IPAM…

Picking up on borgan's question then...the server in question is still operating at default polling intervals (120/120/120 sec for ICMP and 10/9/15 min for SNMP). As stated in my original post, the current polls per second are 30 for both ICMP and SNMP. Why is Orion recommending that polls per sec be raised from 30 to 172…

Yeah, showing the total poller element value on each line is a bummer, but I suppose the best we can do for now is to Group by the poller name, then by the total poller element count. That at least puts the total count number just one time neatly under the name of the poller.

The numbers don't change whether Summarization is selected or not.

That worked great lag! Thanks. Now, let me throw in one more wrinkle please. I would like to incorporate a particular alert into this report. In other words I want to count the number of times a particular alert fired on a particular interface. I think I can reference the AlertID in the Alerts table, but I don't know the…

A few more questions because I watched the brief video by Rob Hock showing how to create an OID poller mapped to a specific OID for multiple CPUs on a device. The Manage Pollers tool really does look like a web-based UnDP. So, again, my question is what are the differences between the Manage Pollers tool in the web GUI and…

No one at SolarWinds? Please?

Restoring a database backup would of course work, but would also "restore" more than just deleted nodes and associated data. No, Leon Adato's response would lead one to think that there is a way to perform some kind of limited restore of just the data of interest, but I cannot imagine what that process would be. Hence, my…

Thank you Brian. Sorry to be a little dense on this, but it appears that a detailed explanation of how Orion uses ICMP and SNMP in polling and stats collection is some kind of state secret. I'll try once more to coax someone into an explanation. Let's say for simplicity sake that both the ICMP and SNMP intervals are set to…

Have a chance to work on this last night?

I have version 1.0.5.26. By the way, my Orion database is on a separate server, but Network Atlas connects to "localhost" rather than the database server name. Why is this? When I try to designate the name of my DB server, it fails to find it.

OK, that's where I would have expected to see that feature. But, as you can see from this pic, that little gem is missing from my Trigger Condition page: Strangely, when I refresh the page, I see the feature appear briefly, but it has disappeared by the time the page fully loads. Should I run Config Wizard or run a repair…

The timestamp in the database does not update.

I have dealt with Corona Technical Services for my training and consulting needs. I found them to be knowledgeable and very professional. You might want to check them out at www.coronaservices.net.

Excellent question. I was wondering the same thing. How exactly should one install upgrades in an FoE environment?
-
Ok, so to be clear, I have to buy the software for each module application that I wish to run from an additional poller, right? And these additional modules are NOT the same part number as the version that is installed on the primary polling server? The reason I ask is tha I heard somewhere that APM and IPAM (others too?)…

Interesting, but changing the hover color in the globalStyles.css file did not change the hovers on the Main Settings & Administration page, but it did change the color on any page drilled from there. Changing the font weight and size in the admin.css file seems to have done nothing anywhere.

Actually, there is more than one issue with this query. Orion.CPULoad and Orion.Nodes are also not recognized.

I think I may have found the CSS file that needs to be changed, but I am not sure. In the inetpub\SolarWinds directory there is a file named "SolarWinds". IS that the correct one to edit? Should I stop the website, make changes, then restart the website in order to see what effect the changes had? Or is this something that…

So, would it even be advisable to disable the default IIS website BEFORE installing a SolarWinds application for the first time?
-
That is pretty much what I thought, but can you expand more on the comparison of UDT pornts list to L2 connections in NPM, or the NodePortInterface table? Thanks.

SolarWinds?

Donald, Realize this is an old thread, but I am curious what you had to do to cut nack on the "chattiness" of alerts in order to use them to open tickets? Care to elaborate? Thanks.

One more thing... I tested this alert a second time and nothing happened. No test log entries, no email, nothing. I see this happen a lot. It seems that the alert functionality, or at least the testing of alerts is very hit and miss. Is there some particular procedure for proper use of the Test button? Do I need to Reset…

Believer it or not, I am still waiting to upgrade to 9.5, but I am getting closer to pulling the trigger! :) Now that SP3 is out, do any of you see any issues still outstanding that would cause one to pause, or should I finally take the plunge? Thanks for helping a timid user. Oh, almost forgot. Is there a map conversion…

SolarWinds? Anyone? Thanks.
