Where is the SWQL Studio? On the Start menu on the Primary polling server?
-
So, regardless of whether it is an NPM POlling Engine version or the polling engine version of of one of the modules, I only need to purchase one copy that can be installed on as many pollers as needed? If so, then one would only need to purchase the software versions for the primary poller AND one of each "polling engine"…

If you mean to run the query in Database Manager, I did that after removing the "Orion." in front of AuditingEvents in line 2. However, there were no returned results. Not sure what that means though. And yes, I muted some alerts and unmanaged some nodes just today for testing. I would have expected to see my user account…

Thanks Rob. May I humbly suggest a re-write in terms of the terminology on this and possible other pages?
-
Oooooookay! So, let me try one more time to see if I can get this straight using an example. Say I have one primary polling server with Orion NPM, NTA, APM, IPSLA, IPAM, Engineers Toolset installed. I also have two additional pollers. I will have to purchase the following for the additional pollers: - one Orion NPM Polling…

Well, to take this vary valuable information to its logical end... Can you or the dev team provide a list of the file names and locations for the "Settings" pages for all SolarWinds apps so that this kind of personalization can be applied to ALL settings pages? I mean, why would I want the Orion Website Administration page…

Expected that. Do you by any chance have a use case documented (ideally with screen shots) that explains how to use the LogAdjuster? I just looked at it, and the tool is not self-explanatory beyond the ability to set logging levels for numerous system logs. How does one actually use it to view SQL?
-
Looks like the Where statement is not working, because I am still seeing nodes that HAVE been added to the database appear in this report. Are you able to test this SQL in your environment?
-
I'm getting data in the query resource now, but any idea why the last three columns are empty?
-
Yes to both please. Thank you.

Well, here is a screenshot of my Trigger tab. I verified the location of the EXE file:

By the way Karlo, I think this thread would be a good subject for a Blog Tip!
-
Thanks Karlo. Thats the kind of detailed feedback I was seeking. The best practices are particularly appreciated and make sense.
-
Good questions. I have been wondering about this too. Solarwinds?
-
Thanks for sticking with me on this Rob. You must admit that keeping documentation updated and accurate is not a strength of SolarWinds. So, are my notes in the following screenshot accurate?
-
Still seeing nodes that are have been added to the DB.
-
What Platform version were you using? I tried it with Platform 2017.1 (NPM v12.1) and it did not work.
-
Thought of that, and none of the following have any effect (good or bad): background: yellow background: CC9900 background-color: yellow background-color: CC9900 backgroundcolor: yellow backgroundcolor: CC9900 Just stabbing in the dark, but no luck.

Yes, that seems to have worked. Sorry for not responding sooner.
-
Sorry, but I have a dumb question. When I look at the average value for Avg Disk Que Length in Perfmon, I see numbers like 0.050. Is that really 0.05, or should I read that as 50? When you say a desirable limit is 2, do you mean 0.002 on the counter, or actually 2?
-
Leon, Here is the alert message I get. The Top 10 processes are not shown. What am I not doing?
-
You may indeed be correct, but we may also be saying similar things. Does the index represent the total number of polls produced over a certain time period? If so, what time period? In other words, if the CPU is set to produce 30 polls per sec and the current index reads 519, does that mean represent 17 seconds of polls? I…
-
Thanks for that information. So, am I correct that there is no documentation anywhere on how to use the PollerChecker, SNMPwalk, or the Logadjuster tools?
-
Well... something changed again because going from the brief 3 line query: SELECT ID, EntityUri, SuppressFrom, SuppressUntil FROM Orion.AlertSuppression Supp where Supp.EntityUri like '%NodeID%' which works to what you have above... yields a blank result again.

I would like to make a feature request that allows the direct editing of the Universal Device Polelr Status resource. I like to use this resource to display pollers that dont work very well as either a chart or a gauge, but I would like to be able to remove pollers from tje Status resource that don't display well there…

Mtorok, Are you still working on this document?
-
Got it. So, if I copy an icon from Visio, and paste it directly to a map, it gets stored in the Imported folder, right? Do I create the User Graphics folder to hold icons I add, or should it be there by default?
-
Yeah, I think you may be right Andy. Maybe that's why it is a feature request. I personally see quite a few requests for this sort of report. It is not unusual to want to know how many times a particular alert fired over time.

rob?

Yes, Karlo that helps, but Step 4 is new to me. Are you saying that if a child has more than one parent, and all of them are not down ,that Orion will wait another polling cycle to verify the status of each parent before setting a status for the child? After you answer that one, I have another question. Thanks for your…
