I'm looking for below 75% for both CPU and memory utilization (in separate reports). I just used CPU as an example thinking that I could modify for the memory myself. So, I need to be able to show a single value for the average CPU Load for all devices for the last month for each customer filtered to show only that…

The part that is not working for me in my alert message is the Notes. How do I populate the Notes field with the list of Top 10 components? Thanks for the very nice alert by the way Leon.

We are in agreement then with how the escalation delay works in the new web-based alerting tool. What I am trying to find out is where the functionality that I highlighted in the old tool has been reproduced in the new tool. In other words, where do I set a delay on the entire alert Trigger Condition with the new tool?

Actually, there is an alert for when a node has not been polled in 5 tries, and one for when the last poll time is more than 10 minutes old. I also see one that alerts if the polling engine has not updated the database in 10 minutes. Will any of these help?

Wait a minute I just realized something. The Frequency indicates that it applies to Interfaces. Why would one look at that and conclude that it also applies to the frequency with which Node baselines are calculated? One other questions about the Polling Settings page while I am on the subject....what kinds of data are…

Is there a log that I can check to see if I can determine some reason why geo-location fails? Or, should I open a ticket?
-
Thanks Questionario. That brings me full circle back to my original post. If first asked if a script would be needed for this type of information. Do you know of a script that would do this?

Last question. I need to add one other calculation step in the report. I need to show only a single average CPU and memory used value for all of the nodes in the same department. In other words, if the Sale department has 5 servers, I need to show a single result for the average number of polls in the last 24 hours and the…

Well, I'm an idiot! Something told me to check to make sure I was looking at the correct database in Database Manager. And I wasn't all this time!! I apologize for the false alarm. All is well.

result is 13.

Ciag, You mentioned that the SNMP Statistic Polling index should not "consistently staying at just one number or never moving off 0". My understanding is that this number measures how many SNMP queries being generated by the poller are being responded to during the allotted time interval, and that therefore a number as…

Thanks, but when I add that filter and then spot check the IP addresses that appear in the report, I am finding that they ARE in the database.

Anyone got this working on Platform 2016.2 or 2017.1? Thanks much.
-
One last, probably expected question... How can I change the background color of the page? Thanks again so much for your help. This allowed me to solve a long-standing complaint from my users! Can we add this as a feature suggestion for future releases of the Platform? (An point and click way to set these website…

Thanks for the update. I removed the 'not like' part at the end of the query and find that it shows the expected nodes (which is all I am interested in for now). Now, how do I include the node name in the muted alerts query?
-
Thanks Denny, and would you believe that I was NOT going to ask for a date? :)

That makes sense. I have always found it interesting that SolarWinds is so lax at documenting things like this. The Pollerchecker tool is clearly not meant solely for SW support engineers to use, so why not mention it (and others?) in the Admin Guides? Any other hidden tools that you care to talk about?

Ooops, jumped the gun a little. The query now works without error, but the result is showing ALL user accounts and their Last Login. I want ti to show ONLY those accounts that have never logged in (i.e. 1-1-1900). How do I get that?
-
Got it to work. There was an almost invisible extra character buried in the query. Thanks so much.
-
To be clear though, both ports 1801 (MSMQ) and 5671 (RabbitMQ) must be open bidirectionally between all polling engines, correct? Does either port need to be open to/from the SQL server?
-
So, does anyone have an answer?
-
Maybe I did something wrong, but your changes produced errors:

That was it superfly. Thank you.

Thanks pyro. So, we still have the question of just exactly what database field is supposedly updated when the name of a node is changed on the Orion website?
-
If I may add one more thing to this discussion please? What is the step by step process by which Orion processes a node down alert with Dependencies in place? When a node is non-responding after the node warning interval expires, does Orion then immediately check to see if the node is dependent on one or more parents? Then…

That works too, but what I was hoping to do was include information about the actual alerts that are triggered for an interface. Specifically, in the EventTypes table are two fields, "Name" and EventType", while in the Alerts table are, "AlertID" and "AlertName". I would like to total the number of times a particular…

Thanks Karlo. So, if I understand correctly, an SNMP query is preceded by a ping to establish the status of the node. Right?
-
OK, I see in the referenced thread that a "User Graphics" folder is mentioned as the place to store custom icons, but earlier you mentioned the "Imported" folder. Does it matter which folder one stores custom or imported icons? When I right click on an icon on the map and select "Select Graphic", I see the Imported folder…

OK, I understand. So, is anything really being accomplished by manually setting an IP address to Transient? If not, wouldn't this option be best set to unavailable if it is only meaningful when IPAM changes the status?

Additional information. I deleted both the raw and transform pollers. Stopped and restarted all SolarWinds services. Then I rebuilt the raw system uptime poller, assigned it to all nodes, but did not choose to display it on the website. I then configured the transform poller and did display it on the Node Details view. I…
