Thanks, but this shows me how to subscribe specifically to NPM feature requests only. I want to be able to subscribe to all Discussions/Questions posted to a particular forum. Surely, I don;t have to go searching for messages and subscribe to them one at a time!

This is perfect! Thanks. So, for example, if I want to see where "City" is used, I would substitute City in between the % signs in the first DECLARE statement? How would the query change if I wanted to search for multiple custom properties?
-
Come on. Too easy or too difficult?
-
That's what I thought, but I find that the Node custom property field is empty in the report. Ideas?
-
Thanks jonchill. That seems to explain the issue with my ASAs since they are on version 8.4. Does anyone have the same issue with the 2851-nme (IOS Version 12.2(52)SE) or the 2960cg-8tc (Version 15.0(2)SE) ?

Thanks designerfx, but a MIB update will not help as that file is not used for this purpose. The MIB file is used by the Universal Device Poliler tool. Does anyone know if it is possible to obtain an updated copy of the SWDscovery.cfg file for use with NPM version 10.3.1?

The template being used is the default Active Directory one and the "unable to connect as "apmmonitor" error occurs on all components except the LDAP Version Script. The error, "about apmmonitor being a valid user on the Orion Server/Polling Engine occurs only on the LDAP Version Script monitor. May I humbly suggest that…

Thanks for the reply. I knew about the Save option, but the problem is, the date stamps in the log are not current. The last time stamp is over four months ago even though I know for a fact that the job is running daily as it should. Any ideas?
-
Thanks lchance, but I was actually only asking if the Network Sonar and Manage Nodes functions could be considered true "APIs".
-
I'm also curious about this. Particularly since the APM Admin Guide states on page 3 that up to 5GB additional (total of 8GB) of RAM may be needed to monitor more than 1000 component monitors. How is that possible for Orion in a 32 bit environment anyway (limit of 4GB RAM). Or am I missing something here? In any event,…

Thanks for the info Casey. That leads to another question about the proper time interval for Rediscovery. Up to this point I was under the impression that one could lessen the load on a polling engine in a large monitored environment by extending the rediscovery interval to maybe once a day since rediscovery didn't…

Thanks Rob. Two questions... So, you are no longer using the OpenStreetMap as the LatLong source? Does your reponse mean that if I input the Lat and Long into the Location field, it will reverse engineer the address?
-
Its in the description to the right of each Threshold on the Orion General Thresholds page in the Settings menu of the Orion Website Administration page. By "XXXX" I meant that there are five different thresholds, not that there is actually an "XXXX" on the page.
-
Maybe I need to open a ticket with SW then, because I am logged in with View Customization rights and there are no >> on the right end of the columns of the Manage Nodes page.
-
I would also like to se an answer to this. SolarWinds?
-
Anyone, please?

Richard, this statement is no small thing as some users have numerous polling engines. I have actually performed simultaneous installs/upgrades on multiple APEs. I did not see any errors. Have you had a different experience? I would think that an adequately resourced SQL back end can handle the strain. No?
-
Thank you Andy. I should have been more explicit. I was referring to the Child Rollup Status choices that one has on the Webconsole Settings page. What is the difference between Show Worst Status, Show Worst Status (Interfaces Only) and Show Worst Status (Applications Only). Also, the explanation beside the Child Rollup…

Rob?

Those resource look potentially useful, but what currently available reports (and/or view resources) would be helpful in NPM v11.0.1 and NTA v4.1?
-
Alex, Thanks much. Works like a charm. I was able to use the same SQL statement in an alert as a custom SQL trigger condition. I then set the trigger action to be Change Custom Property. The Yes/No custom property is changed to a "Yes" value, which then flags the node(s) to appear in a report that I can reference…

Thanks for the reply qle. I got to looking and realized that I was not changing the component property within the application, but at the individual component level OUTSIDE the application - which is not the same. It certainly follows that if I change the port in the TCP port component monitor, that it will change that…

Roger, Is the customization only available for tooltips in maps? Is there any way to do this for the pop ups when I hover over a node or interface icon on a details or summary page?
-
Thanks, but when I try this query I get an error saying that DAYDIFF is "not a recognized function name". What is that about?
-
Anyone? zackm, I know you know this stuff!!

So, Rob let me see if I have this straight. For nodes, the Baseline Data Collection Duration applies a rolling threshold calculation for any node for which the "Use Dynamic Baseline Thresholds" button has been pushed. Is that accurate? For interfaces, is it only the Interface Baseline Collection Frequency setting that…

Add me to the list of supporters for this feature. It seems like one could have a user account setting for "Allow user to customize alerts", just like there is already one for customizing views.
-
The Edit button at the top of the web resource (in this case, the Universal Device Poller Status resource) only allows you to autohide the resource if it is not assigned to a given node. It does not have an option to selectively turn off specific pollers. I suppose I will have to open a ticket.
-
Thanks questionario. I forgot about that feature. However, it is not currently working out that way. I went back to the UnDP and selected the No option for web display, but the poller is still displayed on the website. When I go back once more to the UnDP, the poller is selected for web display all over again. Its as if I…

Thank you, but which OIDs need to be successfully polled in order for UDT to be able to: 1. show connected IPs or MACs on a switch port 2. show user logon and logoff data from a domain controller Thanks.
