@"aanthonisse" Good to know you have found a solution. Are you saying it was a 'smart idea' of Microsoft or Web Help Desk?
-
The fact it is trying to sync via port 389 rather than secure 636 would imply you are not using SSL as per https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/success_center/whd/content/helpdeskaddcaembeddedjava.htm where the certificate from your LDAP server should be in Java Keystore.
-
Are you running your LDAP to Servers over secure SSL connections?
-
Known issue which should be fixed in next release 12.8.1.
-
I knew the last scenario didn't work as my customer normally allows the Client to choose a password via "Email password" so the Tech Admin never sets this, as a workaround he did set the complex password and then advised the Client to change within their Client profile.
-
Have you tried removing the Linked Client within their Tech record setup?
-
Stick the system in Debug Log Mode overnight when the Sync occurs and review the logs.
-
Support told me aware and targeted to be fixed in the upcoming 12.8.1 release. I only get your error when selecting "E-mail Client with password reset link", if I used "Type in new password" with a complex password it worked. A separate issue I had was if using SSO you get neither of these input options so it again fails.
-
Due to forcing Complex passwords now!
-
As you say this is a Tech, do they have a linked Client record?
-
One to log with SW Support then whilst in Debug Log Mode then.
-
Works perfectly for me every time, is the TEch currently logged into WHD when they click on the Ticket number hyperlink?
-
You are clicking on the hyperlink in the E-mail back to WHD?
-
What release of WHD? When you say HTML emails are you saying this is only an issue when using the setting "Include Graphics In HTML E-Mail" within Setup > E-mail > Options > Outgoing Mail ?
-
As far as I know, the only option would be "Allow Re-Assignment" as a Tech membership to the Tech Permission Group. This would apply across all Techs though and would not be selective if a Supervisor. I think this is one of those, the Ticket History will show this occurred and you need to educate the Technician involved,…

These accounts all have the same E-Mail address?
-
You will need to force new collation on Table column QUESTION_TEXT, not just Table JOB_TICKET
-
The important part is SQL State:HY000 -- error code: 1366 -- msg: Incorrect string value: This is a MySQL error. What Collation and character set did you use for the new MySQL8 Database? The database appears to want to store a 4 byte character ( like emoji) but the Database cannot handle this, It will not be just the…

No problem, glad I could help :-)

With the release of WHD12.8.0 SW dropped support for Windows Server 2012 R2 and thus a whole host of cipher suites - this does sound like the negotiation at SSL level is not being passed. You can add older ciphers back in by updating your tomcat_sever_template.xml file but that makes you into a less secure unsupported…
-
Do you have multiple LDAP connections that point to different areas of the AD Forest and if so do employees move around the Forest due to new roles? Have seen that to be an issue and WHD treats them as new records but of cause with same E-mail address.
-
Hi @"jelizaga" You are likely to get new CLient records as WHD will see them as a different identity. Suggest you direct the LDAP Sync to a Forest Branch much lower down tree which just has a small number of users to see how that reacts.
-
Should be Ok as long as you don't have dependencies on this ie Action Rules/Report filters etc.
-
This sounds like something I already have with Support and they advised upgrading to the WHD12.8 release.
-
Some people wanted the option of this way (or specific people who may be super Approvers like CEO or CFO but I was told that was too Technical to attempt at this stage). It satisfies some part of various FRs…
-
Say you have 3 people in CAB and a Minimum Approvers set to 2. First Denies but the Approval is still live because potentially two can still Approve. Moving to the new way (which is a one-way street) The First Denies and the Approval is Rejected, no ifs no buts.
-
You have moved to the new CAB type by selecting the Option in your Dashboard? If you don't see the option then you need to drop the widget back via the widget draw.
-
Search on Google for "MySQL dump script" - there may be differences if you are hosting the MySQL in Windows or Linux and part of Instance shared with other applications.
-
Check Setup > E-Mail > Outgoing Mail Accounts > {Mailbox name} > E-Mail History Tab to see if WHD thinks it has sent the Mail

If @"Mboyle3" does not own Orion then this will be of no use to him.
