  • I was told that this has worked before, I've only been here for three months. I haven't been able to find out when they stopped being received. I did have a ticket open with Solarwinds and they thought it is UAC related. I haven't had a chance to turn that off yet since to disable that it requires a reboot. And I don't…
  • Hi, I am having the same issue. Where were these .dets files? Are they on the poller or on the Netpath probe server? Also, you mention the WINPCap dll issue. What dll was missing or corrupt? I have uninstalled and installed the WinPcap driver on one of our Netpath probe servers and the issue continues.
  • I opened a case and Solarwinds was able to assist. I'm embarrassed that I didn't see it when I was setting up the rule. When I setting up the rule, I was using the same path that the built-in rule was using. When creating the custom rule, you have to use the path to the executable.
  • Hi John, After I posted this, I found that the view for my Groups had been changed to a different view. Once I figured out which is the correct view, the Maps subview now appears. I am seeing the same connection problem as well. I made a group for an entire site, and most of the routers and switches are linked correctly.…
  • NM, I copied this into the message body and it works as expected. Thanks for sharing this, I've been wanting to fix this but didn't have the time.
  • Thanks for the assistance. I did get hung up because one of the links references going into Advanced to locate the Manage Device Templates. We are running the current versions and they moved the Manage Device Templates into Node Management. Thanks for your help!
  • I came across that link as well. I thought I found somewhere that there was integration if it was directly installled. I do have the Toolset installed on my desktop, and I was having problems with getting the integration to work. I finally found that I needed to have ToolsetIntegrationTray running on my machine to get the…
  • Hi superfly, I have enabled the out of the box alert and it's not firing. We are using Cisco 2800 AP's with WLC 5520. Did you have to modify the alert? Thanks!
  • We have been capturing Netflow on our ASR1000's routers. We have 1001,1001x,and 1002's in our environment. I'm actually troubleshooting an issue with a new 1001HX and Netflow with Orion. I'm using the same record, exporter and monitor configuration as my other ASR's but Netflow isn't coming in. As a test, I exported…
  • What is meant when you say "Cisco Switchstacks". The majority of my access layer is made up of 3850 switches and the few I have checked do not have a Device View. Before I open a support stack, I am hoping you can answer if 3850's are supported. Thanks!
  • Hi Kellie, I'll let you know when I have this done. I don't have a timeframe on this. We are running into a couple of issues with NPM and UDT since the upgrade to 12.3 that I'd like to get resolved first. Plus, I believe the SQL server that houses our NPM database is being upgraded to SQL 2016 in the near future so I may…
  • Hi, Has anyone migrated their NTA instance to SQL yet? If anyone has, has the size of the database increased from previous versions? I am upgrading NPM today but am waiting on doing NTA.
  • Thank you for doing the research on this! We recently deployed these routers at the branch and I thought it was odd that they were all showing 85+%. Cheers!
  • I noticed that with NPM 12 coming out, there were also updates to NCM, UDT, and VQNM which are the other modules we run. Is there anything coming for IPAM in the near future?
  • I solved this. I had to change the nodes View Type to Node-Details - Summary. Once I did that, the node would have the Map icon and I could select that to see the topology.
  • 12.3 is an excellent release from what I have seen in the hour I have had it running. What is the key for the Maps function to show up for a node? I read that the Maps only work with the default device type template. Does this mean if select "Edit Node" and if it says (default) under "View type used for displayint details…
  • Thanks for posting this! This was a huge timesaver for me. Over time, we have had many connection profiles and have been wanting to clean it up. This worked perfectly.
  • I'd like to be able to disable resources on multiple devices at the same time? We recently enable SNMP on our 800 wireless devices. These devices have wifi0 and wifi1. Each of these have 3 subinterfaces. I started to go through these devices, and enabling all of these interfaces caused our polling limit to hit 85%. I'd…
  • I've noticed that I've been having an issue with my nightly job. I upgraded to NCM 7.5 on 6/21, and I discovered that the job stopped running on 6/25. I kicked the job off during the day and it seems like it is running much slower. I've opened a ticket for my issue.
  • Hi, How did you get the IP SLA to work on the ISR4K? Did you create the IP SLA manually on the router, and then run the IP SLA Operations Wizard to add it to VNQM? We did a router refresh and are looking at introducing our IP SLA's again. Thanks!
  • Hi, Did you find an answer to this? I have the same warning.
  • Hi Richard, I was wondering if you ever did find anything comparing the two. We currently use NPM but our server team is implementing SCOM to replace Nimbus for server monitoring. They asked us if we wanted to see what SCOM provided to us, and I'm leery of migrating to it just because we have a solid implementation of…
  • Were you able to get this to work? I am using the Cisco WLC device template. I am getting the message "Test Failed. Cannot Log into Device: bad password". When I connect to the controller via SSH, I get a "Login as:" prompt. I enter in my user name, and then I get the prompt: (Cisco Controller) User: Password: (Cisco…
  • I am wondering if anyone else that has upgraded to NPM 11.5 has had problems with the built-in Aerohive poller? For almost half of our access points, the scan result says "Not a match". I have a ticket in with Solarwinds on this, but was wondering if others have seen this with Aerohive.
  • BonjiMoo- The appending of the "@" symbol is not a Solarwinds issue but an Aerohive issue. This has been resolved if you go into Modify on the access point and then Advanced Settings. Under Advanced Settings, there is a checkbox that says "Use Location and Topology Map settings to configure the SNMP location for the…
  • For BonjiMoo, We use Aerohive for our wireless, and we have brought the SNMP issue up with our support team. They have made Aerohive engineering aware of the problem and hopefully will resolve this in a future release. They weren't aware of this issue until we mentioned to our support person.
  • Hi, This is a little off topic. I was wondering when you select one of the Temperature readings, does a chart open that trends this information? When I do it, I get a chart that says Data is not available.
  • Hi, I discovered that we are having this same issue. Were you able to fix this?
  • After several weeks with support, I started looking at this myself. I discovered that there was a Windows Update (KB4049017) that was installed which is a security rollup for .NET. I uninstalled the update, rebooted, and the Netpath probes started working. I have updated my case with Solarwinds with what I found. Hopefully…
  • Good idea on the feature request. I have spent quite a bit of time working with support on this. The last time it failed, they had me do the following. Also, he saw in the diagnostics that there were some indexes that were highly fragmented and suggested I have my DBA's rebuild those indexes. Process to force the business…
