I tried this yesterday but it did not blast out rows of table values.

I'm creating custom report now....I'm trying....

You're still struggling with the lack of automation eh? I feel your pain. Automatic Discovery of Resources to Monitor
-
Hi Alter ~ I have no resolved this. The extremely odd thing is we disabled the monitor and we're still getting the alerts. Any ideas on the macros not coming thru? Thanks for your time as always.

As long as the user has a live mouse on the interface and can click around on the service parent object (Node level), its very difficult to lock down such a thing. We discovered this in testing dashboard for our clients. If they guessed an URL they could see meta data for our OTHER clients. In other words, McDonald's could…

Awesome resource - but, how do you delete these 'dead' volumes from NPM? The only way we have been able to get rid of these is removing and re-adding the Node. Thanks *** EDIT - go to manage nodes, delete dead volumes there.

Well, looks like we are on v7.1.0.1536 This was the upgrade that fixed these issues for us.

The template and component monitors are simple event ID triggers. You can put the component monitors within any template.

I hate to disagree with an employee I have mucho respecto for, but the agents had a limit of freebies. I remember specifically that they were an additional cost for a number higher than the freebie limit. But I don't need to argue about it with you. I remember when I first had the Agent option, there was a limit of 10 or…

Doesn't work....I'm at a point of having an unusable product. Where is AppInsight IIS? Why can't I create any alerts based on this new app?
-
When I typed in H earlier none of my http* named apps came up. I will try again tomorrow. Sometimes a web UI doesn't offer the same experience as a Win32 app. This is one of them. But I understand the direction of the product.

Highly disagreed on cheap. For the $6000 we spent on SAM we are able to monitor 5 SQL servers. And, the $17,000 for an additional polling engine is extreme.
-
Check out Twilio for SMS alerting....
-
Any news on this? This is tragic. We just upgraded to 6.5 and now I have zero V monitoring.
-
Boatload is an understatement...
-
Welcome to painful inflexibility of overriding values in SAM/Appinsight templates.
-
Well.....I manage 12 different SCOM environments for several companies with one that has 1200+ servers alone. It's very simple compared to SAM but I'm not here to argue. When SAM is able to automate certificate discovery, monitoring and alerting the way SCOM does it then that will be a happy fun day. Until then, it's a…

Thanks. Link?

Thanks......!

Yeah. There is a lot to love and hate with Solar. I just now had a meeting with our Director and entire team and he skewered me on several of these limitations. With all of the great things Solar gives us there is a lot of missing basic features which is troubling. I think the greatest indication of how Solar is an…

Already opened a case sir, I was told to upgrade, which is interesting considering this is a 4 year old issue and I just bought the product last week.
-
Our environment was setup and deployed by one of the high profile SW vendors. The guy was very competent until he sort of disappeared on us near the end of the project when the PM realized SAM for SQL only 3 or so alerts out of the box per the Admin PDF and caused an uproar since we lost a TON of unique alerts that the…

Wow, Alex would sure have a hey day here asking for people to be banned for expressing their opinions.....
-
No problem. Works good for us too.
-
The effect would have been much less dramatic indeed. The irony is it could have been twice as long so I picked out the essentials.
-
Agreed. Not everyone is a DBA. And you need one to support this kind of custom reporting. I envy those that can truly code. It's a talent you cannot purchase anywhere.

Bye bye Alert Central....
-
The Performance monitors are just WMI calls.

Hate to ask a silly question but I don't have a Advanced Alert Manager service. I have a SolarWinds Alerting Engine, is this the 'same'? Thanks
