Not a fun endeavor though with 18,000 unique volumes.

The new web based alert mechanism is cluttered and does not give you the ability to scroll through all of your component objects. This was raised in many other threads (usability). The web based interface is terrible for us as we are unable to effectively create component monitors when the picker is not all inclusive.

Another UI trying so hard to be like Office 2013. Ugh. The flat, white, washed-out UI direction of so many products is so sad. That side by side comparison imagery you posted is right on the money. What was once so clear and defined is now a confusing puke white fade out. Why have so many companies been influenced by…

Great thread. How can this be done in a Last Months availability report? I desperately need the date stamp to show March 1 - March 31, for example. Thank you!
-
If I had a dollar for every time this question was asked, I could retire.
-
Tony - this report is awesome. Can you help with a filter on Node Name for this? I'd like to create one for every client of ours filtering on Node name. I appreciate any help out there!

Nevermind, we will wait for SAM 10.0

If only it didn't skip data, anyone else see this?

AlterEgo, Just want to make sure this will test what we need, which is mailflow through Microsoft cloud based email gateway. Will this check messages coming in through EOP? Our MX record is bighugecompany-com.mail.protection.outlook.com for incoming mail Outgoing mail is sent through a smart-host:…

What type of resource do I select to add? Thanks

I asked if it was a Windows service, not a Windows server, that is already understood. Ok, so, now you are asking how to monitor an MDB file? That is not a service, that is a file type used by MS Access. There are no facilities that I am aware of in Solarwinds NPM or SAM to monitor a flat MDB file for any kind of…
-
Is this a Windows service? Your question is somewhat vague.

8 years later you are hoping for a fix? LOL Priceless. And now I know why the Old VS New thread was created. new features vs. old problems
-
I guarantee his issue is packet loss causing node down alerts. Many, many threads on this.
-
Huh? "Go to settings > manage alerts > search for component > make sure they are turned on and apply to your device"
-
It is my understanding from support that those 3 queries are only for multi-polling engine deployments - is this true or false?
-
Thanks - is this the droid you're looking for?

Running a config wizard is not a casual proposition without explaining possible ramifications of losing custom HTML, or wreaking havoc on discoveries. I would bounce services, or reboot the server before doing a config wizard. This is just an example of a minor nuisance of a giagantic semi-clunky web based product.

The IP in SolarWinds would need to be updated. I wish it was smart enough to do what you're asking. We have the same issue with an SRM failover. (Sorry to bud in)

"I've also seen cases where people just write volume space alerts with a series of OR condition groups so they can set various threshold based on the overall size of the volume, ie total size 2tb, critical threshold= 100gb, total >2tb<500gb threshold 50gb, etc etc." Me too, and its a nasty kludgey nightmare to manage when…

Indeed. It is. That's how the other tool works. Easy peesy.
-
Any updates on these issues? Thanks
-
Ditto. Someone, please re-write Appinsight. I'd rather have a flexible and reliable application monitoring component than more bells and whistles.
-
Your suggestion is for the entire NPM package the operate correctly, not just for this particular issue. But definitely a good suggestion for general NPM knowledge for people new to Solar.
-
Thanks, but, the problem as I mentioned, is we have never installed this product trial. Ever.
-
I created my own. Works fine. They are now in the Database. Not too many counters.
-
Any updates on this issue? Is this a showstopper? Thanks!
-
Don't fret jouhary, you are not alone.... This problem is one that makes me physically ill that people have no concept of what we need. SCOM does it so well, SolarWinds still does not automate object management. Discovery settings changing after running config wizard?
-
Thanks....Looking for Available Space not Volume Size which does have granular capability. Available space field does not:

In other words it's impossible to do without extensive SQL queries.
