A user calls the help desk to report that their computer is not connecting to the network. After some basic troubleshooting over the phone, a technician was dispatched to the user's desk. Upon arriving at the users desk, the technician notices an Ethernet cord sitting on the user's desk. After a few question, it was…

We just finished the P2V of 3 Database servers to VMWare. I use the VMware standalone tool exclusively and have had much success with it. The trick is using the synchronization feature within the tool. Here is what we did to have 3 successful P2V SQL database conversions. * 2 days before conversion, run an initial P2V…

I think you need both in your environment in order to be successful. You need a versatilist in a management position for direction and purposefulness of your projects and agenda. However, you also need specialist to review the plan and ensure that it 1). can be done and 2). that there is not a better way to perform the…

We use custom properties for managing rights and alerts so this would be huge for us. Please look at implementing.

We saw no effect on production while the P2V processes where running. However, the P2V process did take longer during the day when the servers are being more utilized than at night.

With so many other people who play, should try to use Skype or Hangouts and a Web based randomizer to play a remote game of D&D.

Need to bring this one back. I could use this for Applications. A single SQL server may be associated to multiple applications. Would like to create a custom field called "Applications" that I could select which applications DBs reside within this SQL server. Then, when we are looking to upgrade later, it will be easy to…

I am seeing this as well. Is there any solution?

I can confirm that this does not resolve the issue. I was able to resolve the issue by removing the Entry for DFS Replication. I hope that helps. Thanks

That did it. I had to replace the CSS with the new version. then the button showed up. Now I just have to modify it for our colors. Thanks for the help

ok.. ID 10 T error. I did not put the </table> at the end of the statement. Thanks for the help.

The problem is that I do not know the credentials so I can not set up the credentials that I want to test. Thanks for the reply though.

Thank you. I think this is as close as I am going to get. I was able to use the second report you provided to find the nodes to search for. Then added that information in to a discovery and used the first SQL statement you gave me to find the SNMP information (If there was any). Thanks

Ok.. so I know I am on the right track. I got the clocks from the same place and I tried to use the HTML table commands, but the first box is much wider than the rest. I have tried use "width" commands with both the table and the TD commands with no success. I will keep trying. At least I know I am on the right track.…

We do have a look and feel set to custom CSS. However, we did have the icon before the upgrade to 12.2 (this past weekend). Is there something in CSS that needs to be added?

We do not use SSO, but I am sure it would. The only issue we have found is some users have the same username in both systems. In these cases (I think there was 5 for 2400 clients), we had to have a user change their username.

I think this is getting off topic. I am looking for a way to scan nodes that maybe have ICMP currently configured to see if they have SNMP configured. Because I did not set up the devices and have no idea when or who did set them up, I need a way to scan through the 23 SNMP credentials that we have in order to change the…

Email should only be used if you cannot log into the helpdesk system. The preferred method is to log into http://test123.test.com . You can log in with your computer username and password. If you need to use email, you can use test123@test.com to generate a ticket. However, please be aware that using this method will slow…

How did you get the clocks? I am trying to set up something similar and I am having issues with getting the clocks to display correctly.
-
That is correct. None of the clients or client admins can see it. But the Techs do see it.

I tried to connect with the Real-Time Even Log Viewer and I get an error stating that the WMI credentials do not have permission. However, it is the same permissions that I am using for polling. I also tried a different set of credentials.both accounts had local administrator as well as DCOM rights.

That fixed it for me. Thanks for the work.

This worked. Thank you

I understand your statement about making it "look pretty". However, even making it look pretty can have advantages that equate to ROI. For example, Let say that there are two Ticketing systems that you are looking at. First one is a great back end system that performs advance monitoring and reporting functions, but the…

The problem is not only the Sys admins. The "developer" is now the director of that particular office. (yikes)

Where is your user logging off too? We have the log off page sent to out intranet page so that the user does not end up back in the system.
-
What about setting up the primary email address to a group box that then forwards the email to all the users? We use this for the SMS alerts for immediate responce issues. This way, we can alert all members of I.T. but still associate the ticket with First level responders. Good luck Bill

I will repost "dengle's" post here along with my SQL view. I just started my demo of WHD and was a little disappointed by this. My solution was to create a new view in the Lansweeper DB and then switched the asset sync from "Lansweeper" to "Microsoft SQL server". It's not 100% since it doesn't pull in peripherals or…
