Hi Will, Well whatta ya know, I've just found this document in the customer success centre: Where are the configs stored locally on the NCM server - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support which tells me "By default, NCM is designed to save downloaded configs to both the SQL server in the NCM_ConfigArchive table and a…

Hi Nandish, Region like '%UK%' doesn't work either I'm afraid. I also tried following the steps you provided, but I don't undestand Step 2. Can you explain further? Also, regarding Step 5, have hundreds of nodes, so I'd rather not have to repeat this process hundreds of times. ollydrew

Thanks. We have NCM 7.5.1 and NPM 12.1 HF1 so quite up to date (ish). I can see those settings you're referring to. So for us at the moment, we're backing up the devices to the C drive of whichever poller they're being polled from. I'll update them to be a location that's backed up regularly so that way we'll have the SQL…

Hi neomatrix1217 - this also fixed the problem for me too. Thank you very much! ! ollydrew

I'm running SecurePlatform (SPLAT) on HP DL380 servers. Cheers, ollydrew

Thanks for the quick reply. I don't have IPAM, and my boss won't give me budget for it. I use the IPAM that's included in the Engineers Toolset, but I don't think that will do it, and show graphs of how many addresses are leased during the day. Can I use a Universal Device Poller to do it? ollydrew

Thanks Tomi - I just added a Check Point 12400 firewall gateway to Kiwi Catools version 3.11.4 and it worked.

Hi jrouviere, Apologies for not having responded sooner - the colleague who's the F5 admin is on holiday for a few days, so I haven't looked at this for a while. They'll be back on Monday, so I'll pick this back up then. I read the articles that you pointed me at, and reviewed the "Allow Matching Nodes by Another IP…

Thanks, UDP 162 is not listed when I run a netstat -ano, so I guess it's not in use. By the way, I fired up Syslog Daemon, and enabled that to listen for SNMP Traps, re-ran the natstat -ano, and I sw that the syslod_d service grabbed UDP 162 with a PID of 7744. I've turned off Syslog Daemon now, and the netstat-ano now…

Thank you JiriPsota - your filter did the trick!

Hi Nandish, I tried that and it doesn't work. System returns "Custom SQL filter is incorrectly formated ." Can I try anything else?

Thanks Will. Is the database that NCM stores configs in, part of the overall SolarWinds Orion SQL database or is it separate from that? I'm thinking of this from a disaster recovery viewpoint. Today the "Download configs from devices" job is saving the configs at C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\NCM\Config-Archive on all three of…

We had been seeing this exact symptom for almost 6 months, so each time we needed to reboot our main polling engine, we dreaded waiting for almost half an hour before it would return to the Ctrl + Alt + Del screen. It would always stop at this point: In the end it was related to exactly what daveb7114 said and we resolved…

I knew I'd seen the answer I was looking for somewhere in the SolarWinds world... It turns out that it was not in the NPM admin guide, but rather right in front of my nose! When you go to add an individual account (Admin > Accounts > Manage Accounts) there's a line of text right there on the page that tells me exactly what…

I've always wondered how to do that, but never made myself go ahead and raise a trouble ticket, like you did - so thanks very much! :-)

Hi Mr_Masood, There's loads of product documentation online - all available in PDF format. For example, for NPM, head to Network Performance Monitor (NPM) - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support and then you'll see down on the left hand side of the screen a documentation section (see image below).

I know this is an old post, but I had the exact same question, so I opened SolarWinds Support Case # - 00060452, and I got the following answer: All download are available in the customer portal, even previous ones. Just click on the Chose Download button and on the next page, click on the box below the download type…

Hi mharvey, I think the only settings that you can change for binary configs storage are 1) The path to the binary config share 2) The credentials that are used to access that share. These two choices are found at Settings > All Settings > NCM Settings > Binary Config Storage Settings. The only place I can see where you…

Hi, I'm looking for something similar. I have to make a planned change to the SNMP settings on 70 or so nodes (apply a new ACL for SNMP read-only access), so I want to make sure that SNMP polling is still working afterwards. I appreciate this isn't quite the same thing, but I think the effect is the same - In Orion, I went…
