Thanks Leon, so am I right in saying that the SAM and VNQM applications also run on the additional poller aswell and the primary? What about components such as Orion NCM v6.0 Integration Module for Orion NPM, is this a module that will allow integration with NPM? The "v6.0" part does it mean thaqt this component is only…

kmillerusaf Hi, thanks very much for the reply. This would be a very handy feature for troubleshooting. Looks like I'll have to make my way through the pcap dump. I've been looking in the database to see if I can find any tables that might help me but can't find one that will help me identify which oid's are being polled…

Thanks for the reply. I know that you can add things to the pop up because when I first arrived in my position here my predecessor had set it up but after we had some problems and needed to run the configuration wizard again our website returned to a default state and we lost this particular bit of functionality. This…

I have my polling interval set to 180 secs that's the default no? What's the relationship between polling interval and gather statistics?

Thanks again Will appreciate your efforts once more. Yes running that SWQL query got me what I was after, so is that the only way I'd be able to pull that info? It doesn't look like there's an 'all IP's on device' object I can poll for each node on the report? Is there anyway to find the OID Solarwinds polls to get that…

Thanks for the reply! How did you get your hands on the SWQL query used? My question however was how could I include the 'All IPs' in an exportable report? Any ideas. Again I appreciate your input, thanks@wluther

loves2surf Hi maybe you can help me with this? Would appreciate it if you could have a look. Firstly let me say that I have the custom property fields of (a) Device_Location and (b) bgp_neighbour populated, however every time I run the script instead of the contents of the new_description custom property being added to the…

Great work appreciate it!
-
Hi where can I find documentation or an API to teach myself how to use custom properties in configuration scripts, if you know where it is of course! Thanks
-
Care to expand? What does that mean, there'll be no reg edits necessary on user machines to enable them to ssh straight to a box from a node details page? Cheers!
-
Is reg edit file to be ran on Orion server or on end user machines? GoldTipu

This is all well and good but what about when you have multiple cards on a Switch...when you create the report they're not identified they're just listed as serial numbers os you don't know which serial number belongs to which card, module etc...

Maybe someone can help me - I am trying to do something very simple create a page with interface utilisation and errors and discards graphs from various different devices all pulled together in to one page. I successfully did this a year ago by putting HTML like this into the custom HTML widget and it worked perfectly...…

Great work, would love to see as many of these as possible regarding all the technologies underpinning tools provided by Solarwinds. Lovely stuff

Hi Datrigga, "Expanded Memory drop down " where's this? In node details? And where's this - * Click Detect Pollers? I am running NPM v12 and would appreciate the steer! Thanks

From what version onwards of NCM is 1. Ability to add logic to command scripts (e.g. if, then, else) 2. Ability to access NCM inventory data in scripts (e.g. custom properties, interface description, VLAN, etc.). Available from? Where could I find the API or a guide as to how to use these advanced features? Any guides or…

You're on a roll today!! Thanks very much again Jiri. Have a good weekend!

How can I see what version of the tool set I am using?
-
I have it all displaying correctly now in my web console, thanks so much for your advice!! As regard alerts I want to alert if the supplies are anything other than OK. Have you set these up before? Did you alert on 5the numeric value returned by custom poller or the mapped to value (word)? Thanks alot!

Anything further on this would love to know why you encountered that problem. I did also but it was as a result of the Solarwinds Orion Module engine service stopping so I restarted and we were good to go. Our db has been acting very strangely recently so I think there is an underlying issue I am not aware of yet.

I have added that resource to homepage but a little unsure of how to use the filter. I want to display any syslog messages that contain the text "fd read error". An example provided by solarwinds is: Only display Syslog Messages of s specified type MessageType Like 'PIX*' so I am guessing I should filter as so:'fd read…

I've been using this to poll for current calls - There are five available OIDs on the SBCs to monitor the VoIP traffic. These objects only store statistical information about calls, not the speech of quality. The statistical information that these objects store is: current active calls, the total amount of calls processed,…

Hey there, did you have any luck creating your custom poller? I am in a similar position in that I am trying to determine what metrics would be useful for S4B info too. I would suggest running a MIB walk over the device with a view to learning the OID's of what it is you'd like to monitor, then set up custom pollers to…

Thanks for all your help guys I think that should do the job. can I ask....if I select an alert from the configure alerts screen and then click the test button will this simulate the alert being triggered? I can then test to see if the alert once every day or every 1 hour or minute condition will work?

Did you ever get a definitive answer on this or have you a link to the most up to date port requirements doc?
-
Did you ever get to the bottom of this? I have NPM 11.5.3 installed on a 2012 machine and when I ping the exchange server I can see the packets in wireshark but when I test fire a mail....nothing, which suggests that the server is not generating SMTP at all?

Mateusz O Thanks Very much Mateusz!

Something else you might need to consider is that you need to have the fully qulified domain name of the server is the server name cell in the websites table. I have the same problem and needed to recently disable https connections to my website so I made the change to the websites table that added 443 in the port number…
