My understanding of the idea of creating a new config type is so that NCM knows where to store the downloaded config in its repository. Am I correct in saying this? eg if it has downloaded a config from "con1" when it trys to store it in config repository it'll see that there are only 2 (default) types of config…

Hi Bryan, I am having this problem too, did you ever manage to implement a workaround or find a solution? This seems to me to be a poorly developed OID? Should ifLastChange not always get it's time reference straight from SysUpTime?! Can I ask also how did you manage to display the data on the node details page? That is to…

Thanks guys - I was able to run two commands via the download config button like this.... <Command Name="DownloadConfig" Value="${echo yes | tmsh list}${CRLF}${ExitConfigMode}${CRLF}${tmsh list sys httpd max-clients}${CRLF}" /> within this... <Configuration-Management Device="F5" SystemOID=" 1.3.6.1.4.1.3375"> <Commands>…

Can any Solarwinds bods provide some input on this. Management is asking why they keep seeing this message, "it's as if it has been down for a period" I don't want to have to raise a ticket for this.
-
Adeese2 Thanks for that, we don't have the luxury of beginning again on a virgin VM. We're working in our production environment. Yeah I probably will repeat this procedure for all our components. Thanks for getting back to me. Fair play.

Thanks guys!!!

Ever get a resolution to this? I was about to run a config change template and received this error too "The socket connection was aborted. This could be caused by an error processing your message or a receive timeout being exceeded by the remote host, or an underlying network resource issue. Local socket timeout was…

Hi jvoisin. Firstly I am sorry but I don't have any help for you regarding the issues you've had since upgrading to 7.2.2. We are upgrading to that soon so will probably share your pain then! I have a question though I would like to ask you if you'd give it a minute.... I am trying to set up our NCM to automate the back up…

Hi Jamessobo, did you manage to implement this? Is this environment supported by Solarwinds? I may need to do the same myself.
-
Did you ever find the solution to this problem? I have a very similar problem where I am populating with a literal value rather than the custom property I have defined?! M aybe you can help me with this? Would appreciate it if you could have a look. Firstly let me say that I have the custom property fields of (a)…

Anyone have any luck with getting NCM to back up Checkpoint firewalls?

Anybody ever find out whether keys are supported on the SCP/SFTP server?

BTW getting mails as an alert is so 2002 we need a visual representation of the BGP state of any node that is not returning a BGP state of 6 (established) Because the nodes with problems window will only show a little flashing icon if the physical interface is down that's a serious limitation, it should be able to notify…

kmillerusaf Hi there, did you ever find a method easier than trawling through a packet capture? I have the same situation, case open with cisco and they want to know what OID's I am polling
-
Changing the method type from get to get next actually fixed this issue for me too. What's actually happening here when we instruct the template to 'get next'? My guess is that the template was pre-populated with an incorrect OID for determining the status of the call manager and in fact the required OID was just the next…

I'll answer my own question here, what was locking me out was the source node from which I was riunning IP SLA jobs. The IP SLA joibs in particular were ones that needed CLI creds (ICMP echo) which I had entrered previously so I just changed the CLI creds used in VNQM a good guide of how to change these can be found…

It is possible to do this if you use the engineers toolkit on your NPM server. You just need to configure the device you are looking to change the config on to use TFTP as it's transfer protocol when you select the node for editing on NCM. Then open the cisco config uploader tool on NPM server select the device you wish to…

Am I missing something I switched on session tracing to debug a config back up and when I have unticked the box beside session tracing in File > Settings > Session Tracing in Network Configuration Manager however it appears that NCM is still tracing sessions because I can still see new files being created in <install…

Turns out the ol' dependable re-start fixed my problem!

Hi, we have NCM 7.0.2. That sounds like a great feature in v7.3. We are looking to upgrade our NCM to the latest version in the next few weeks so looking forward to all these new features and functionality. However it's errors like these that we don't want to carry over to the newest version! Yes I have tried this in…

I think this is a good shout. Have you moved your Solarwinds DB to PaaS?
-
Thanks for clearing that up for me!!

Did you ever have any luck with this? I am just about to start trying to back up configs on the checkpoint firewalls in our estate. Cheers
