11.5.3. We are going to upgrade to 12 very soon, it's just that our primary poller has 8G RAM and the minimum stated in the NPM 12 Admin guide is 16G whereas the recommended is 32G, so I htough I don't need to put our box under any more stress so we'll upgrade post server migration. What's the monitoring like on Nexus in…

I need to get a device template for a brocade VDX Switch with the Sys Object ID of: 1.3.6.1.4.1.1588.2.2.1.1.1.112 where could I get my hands on one of these? Thanks

What are these...NCM Caching & Polling services? Can't see these in Orion service manager on my NCM server? TIA

Hi Cahunt, How do you know Row ID 470/471/472 = power supplies? This seems to reflect what I am expecting to see when trying to monitor the power supply on a Nexus7K on our network 470 & 471 are both up (value = 2) How did you learn that 470/1 are power units? After running a MIB walk I could make an educated guess that…

Cheers Chris, so that would include running remediation script on all nodes that are violating within config blocks not just to configure remediations in global config across all violating nodes?
-
@Chris T Cheers Chris T, really appreciate your input. Looks like I am just gonna have to suck it up and go back to those interfaces with no config and tackle them individually! A pain over the course of a few hundred nodes but I can't see any other way round this! Thanks very much again!

Thanks for the insight much appreciated. Cheers

My labels look like this... How can I map the labels to descriptions eg. power supply 1, power supply 2 etc? Also when I go to map a number ie 2 = ok, I can't see an option to add a second mapping? no buttons or anything to add another? Any help appreciated TIA!

Hi AndyRoberts, Did you ever get to the bottom of this? Do you know the correct OID to poll for Nexus power supplies? I am trying to poll the same for Nexus 7K's. Cheers

I am facing the same issue now. What was the outcome of your support case? Cheers

Thanks aLTeReGo. How then does SAM go about retrieving stats from applications if not by SNMP? Is there a whitepaper or some documentation around this? Thanks for the input.
-
Cheers Craig, yeah that makes sense. Can I ask, when I go to run my remediation script on "all config blocks in violation" is this on a per node basis ie. when I hit 'submit' will I have an option to run remediation script on config blocks in violation on one node or every node which is in scope for the policy report which…

christopher.a.thornton@gmail.com Thanks for the help @Chris T I have a real zinger now though. I recreated your rule and the strange thing is that it is finding violations in the config but not identifying where they are, ie. in which config block. Here's your rule I copied... This is an excerpt of the config I am testing…

Thanks Sean!

Thanks Jiri, I'll give that a go. I would have though we'd be looking at a large SQL Query rather than an xml file for a DB query?

Thanks I'll take a look at that!

I have just upgrade from NPM v10.3 --> v10.5. We're having the same problem, we ran the upgrade after logging on to server as administrator? Found this knowledge base regarding running a repair Repairing Orion NPM Installation * Log in to Orion NPM Server as a Windows Local Administrator. * Click Start > Control Panel >…

Hi did you ever have any luck with copying a back up config from Checkpoint firewall to an SCP server?

Thanks Will - seems like all my commands are running twice now?... Here's the debug output below, the keyword I'm guessing is 'bad substitution' *** OnConnect received, err = 0 Access is restricted to authorised users only. srv_Solarwinds@(DeviceName)(cfg-sync In Sync)(Standby)(/Common)(tmos)#…

Thanks for the reply, I managed to restart the job engine v2 service by a reboot of the server. How long before I start to see statistics? I have node polling set to 180 seconds and Collect Statistics Every: 15 mins. Does this mean that even though the job engine is gathering statistics every 3 minutes, it is only every 15…

Thanks nantwiched, Yes that did allow me to add the node to NCM without adding it to NPM. All was going well but when I tried to download the config I got the following error message... Connectivity issues discarding config file. Device IP: x.x.x.x. I don't think this is due to a bad password because the usual error…

Thanks for your help amarnath_r but this doesn't seem to be working for me. Looks like I'll need to raise a support case. I have given these users access to several different modules so that might have something to do with it? Very much appreciate your efforts though!
-
No unfortunately. You?
-
No I am on NPM 10.5 though I believe these pop ups or editable in a further release though
-
Brilliant Will, thanks for such a thorough and informative answer! I'd mark it as correct but I'm worried that'll somehow close out the discussion so I'll leave it open in case someone else chimes in and I'll come back to close it. Thanks again

Hadn't got time to pursue this further as I said I nominated another tftp server to use, is this not possible for you?

I will also add that whilst playing around with this I changed the engineID, could this have an effect? This config was already in place before my testing that was fail/success depending on whether I had the context added to the add node fileds so I doubt it has any bearing User name: SWUser Engine ID: 1111111111…
