Could you share your custom poller please mate? Cheers!
-
Cheers rschroeder, thanks for the reply - the thing is Solarwinds don't offer support for regex, it's not that I need help creating the regex I would just love to have a testing ground that Solarwinds could stand over and say if it works on tool X it will work in Solarwinds. A tool/interface like Regexr or regex 101 would…

BIG TIME! The lack of this is so annoying

Good article Chris. Nice intro to Device Templates. What I would like to know though is, although a device template provides an instruction set and maps native commands to NCM commands (commands NCM can interpret from XML tags?), how does NCM know in what sequence to use them for instance I want to create a device template…

What if you've to do a large number in one evening?!!!!
-
Can't believe this isn't a feature!!!!! C'mon guys!!!!!?????????
-
Cheers. I'll ask support if there is any tool already available online that might be a decent replication of how the .Net regex engine used by NCM works.
-
This would be very handy, surely not too hard to develop on the back of the 3750 report?
-
Hi rschroeder, do you find that the regex tool you provided a link to 'RegExr' is a decent replication of the regex engine used by NCM specifically the policy reporting tool? What I am trying to say is if I can match a string with that tool should the same regex work to find a string using the NCM policy reporting tool's…

+ 1 this is a pain!

OK excellent, I'll have a go with that. Thanks very much!

I use regex a lot in my compliance reports for example if I want to make sure that default SNMP string is not being used I set up a rule to alert if the regex community(|-name) (Public|public|Private|private) is found the major thing I am struggling with is trying to get NCM to match strings over multi line. I can do it…

Hi maybe you can help me with this? Would appreciate it if you could have a look. Firstly let me say that I have the custom property fields of (a) Device_Location and (b) new_description populated, however every time I run the script instead of the contents of the new_description custom property being added to the…

Help needed. I'd like to add a resource to our homepage which will inform our network management centre when the BGP protocol has gone down on a link. We need visual a representation, ideally something like the 'nodes with problems' window which at present shows if an interface is down with a little blinking red dot on a…

I'd like to see a tool similar to regex 101 incorporated in NCM, something that allows you to build regular expressions and see them match strings in text you provide on the fly. This will allow users to build regex for compliance rules, config searches etc and be confident they will work in the NCM environment whereas at…

Where do the suggested dates come from? Surely the is no plug in to a Cisco API so my guess is that there are dates prepopulated in to the NCM database already there upon installation? cvachovecj

Totally agree if this vulnerability reporting is to be useful it needs to take into account minor releases. Other than that a big fan of NCM
-
Thanks! So where does this need to be saved and how do I replace the default CPU poller for ASR's with this one? How to implement? Thanks for taking the time @dsimpkins
-
C'mon Solarwinds!?
-
So NCM's policy reporting tool uses .Net's flavour of Regex? Can it do multi line matching?cvachovecj
-
Thanks for this I'll give it a go
-
Hi george.subnet, how did you get NCM to ignore "blank interfaces" or even interfaces which have nothing configured on them? TIA
-
Hey there - What was the end of this case? I have the same issue currently though ironically I am running 2020.2.6!
-
Hi Dsimpkins - thanks very much for that - I will give that a try - I justneed to find some good documentation on how to use it! I had a quick play with it and doesn't seem very intuitive at first. Thanks for the reply!
-
Hi dsimpkins - did you ever get to the bottom of this? I am running 9.12 on some 5585x and I am also not seeing CPU & Mem statistics. Cheers

I have it all displaying correctly now in my web console, thanks so much for your advice!! As regard alerts I want to alert if the supplies are anything other than OK. Have you set these up before? Did you alert on 5the numeric value returned by custom poller or the mapped to value (word)? Thanks alot!

I'm on 10.5 and will be upgrading soon just have to go through server migration first! Need to get this working correctly for a power supply test tomorrow though. I've managed to get enumeration to text working fine but still in the dark about how to map numbers (22,23,470,471etc) to readable values I've used the OID ent…

Does this mean we won't need to use UnDP for Power status polling? Will Solarwinds be able to poll power supply with out a UnDP?@bluefunnelmental

That comment was moderated and a word was obfuscated. The message was I am just gonna have to accept it!
