Another thing that may cause this... Placement of polling engine. If the polling engine pings take a while, but you get to the device with very little latency from your desktop, Orion will report the length of time it took the ping from the engine. If you placed a polling engine closer to the device (your desktop in this…

So basically, my ping test points 'machinetype' show up as unknown. I believe if I edit that property, it will get overwritten on re-discovery. I am wondering if there - is/can be added - a way to edit these to remove the "unknown" types

wow...kinda "exactly" like what you were thinking...and said hunh? sorry about that
-
no, but sadly - I haven't had a chance to run update (have 7 boxes w/ pollers and web servers). are you on the latest/greatest? If you are, please open a ticket and post results here. I'll update when I get a chance to run upgrade. thx

ditto on the metro-E and all three enhancements look good!
-
doing now. thx
-
I do, but I monitor those statistics in another application, so keep that in mind.
-
I think their official stance is they don't support SAN, but I am running successfully, and usually, they will try to help troubleshoot a problem with you as much as they can. Not sure why they don't officially though.

I haven't had time to run it down, but off top of my head, maybe try using "HAVING" clause. I'll play with it as soon as I can.

new case: Case #323286

I'm with VH and NG. I"ve customized some SQL and other things and that was the biggest draw for us to jump aboard Orion. Any good system will allow customizations and upgrading will be somewhat painful in this aspect, but worth it in my book, because nothing out of the box fits anyones mold to a T. Trick is to keep close…

what came of the case mwb? TIA
-
try changing "hname" to "sysname" otherwise, post your error

Oddly, I have both of those in my report and hidden. I am able to drill down into the Node, but not the Interface for the node... I've uploaded the report as .txt
-
have you tried talking to your sales reps/customer service about this?

The one displays in place of the default (home) map. Come to think of it, it is a map based issue across the board. My netops group monitors 2 maps and they both go out at the same time basically. The background map for the home is 132k and the home.orionmap page is 436k, but the second page they monitor doesn't have a…

Can you attach report? I'm happy to take a look and see if I can't tweak the SQL...
-
I put a feature request in for Alerts persisting into alerthistory table.
-
ah yes, that is like the hname for us. glad you got it working. I'll tweak that as well.
-
check the content exchange section of thwack for these types of "downloads"...that is where shared content will be. Here is mine:
-
yep, excellent....I cant wait! you all are doing a GREAT job adding very useful functionality across your products!
-
well, meant to caveat anyways....oops. sorry all
-
not sure where you are trying to go with it... what historical info are you looking for? for the SQL checks you set up above, probably? depending on your data retention settings, the data could be in one of several tables; for any given type of object (node, app, component, volume, int, etc.) then you've got the status…

same here. we have 2 proc, 16GB RAM (14GB committed). SAN attached that is not even breaking a sweat. PROCs aren't being worked much.
-
I have not implemented so just a guess, but it may be an option using RTCD (Real Time Change Detection).
-
It looks like SWIS is in there for 10.7... insert-able value -> overridden memory threshold -- NICE JOB SW -> yet another nugget in 10.7! ${NodesThresholdsAlerts.PercentMemoryUsedCriticalValue}
-
perfect, thanks!
-
Most excellent. I've put a ticket in so my Linux team can tweak. I'll post here when determine effect. Thanks!
-
Thanks for that! I was able to get around it by using: (t.Warning not like '%1.79%E+308' and t.Critical not like '%1.79%E+308') and ... Interesting its only on gt.. I'll have to test that out. Have fun!

? does this mean you are going to add functionality so when we add a node in NPM, we will be able to update custom properties or is this (sounds like it) a new piece of functionality to the web interface, and not being added to NPM?? What is the ETA for this? Thanks much
