to kind of piggy back on RGWARDS: 8. Unmanaging/remanaging I know 8.5 will allow this on schedules - how will these show up on the map when unmanaged? If unknown, then the submaps will alarm right? I would love to be able to unmanage for a time period (from the web with the right permissions) interfaces and have them…

I have gone around and around on this very subject. We push our customers to be either we own or they own so we can monitor via GRE interfaces. For Cisco, there is no real solution for this as the Ciscos don't treat it as an interface and as I'm sure you are well aware, the tunnel IDs change every lifetime cycle, so you…

I think for traps you need to use snmp-server trap-source <interface>.
-
I've tested using several versions of IE and firefox.

you also have to consider how many objects are on your maps and submaps. I was told that the more objects on the map and also submaps from that top page will affect how long it takes to load the page, as it has to do the appropriate queries. I am planning on breaking out my one TOP map into six different maps to increase…

I am still 9.0 sp2. Sarg, that did it! Thanks much!

thanks for updating.

right on the end: http://mksolarwinds2/Orion/login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2forion%2freport.aspx%3freport%DailyNodeAvailability_-_Last_Month&Report=DailyNodeAvailabilty_-_Last_Month&AccountID=autoreport&Password=mypw4reports assuming you used the creds I supplied

Thanks for checking this out! It really has added (is adding) a significant amount of time to my creating maps. caught in the middle of building the switch fabric maps :). thx
-
sorry about the delay. Yea, its still a problem for me. I removed all account limitations except for single group and was still able to change URL for IPSLA and Interfaces to view other detailed pages outside of group results set.
-
no worries. I imported and tried working around in the new beta3 to no avail. sorry...guess we'll have to wait for feature request to be implemented. Would be really nice to be able to put report on node/interface details page that filters on that appropriate ID!!!
-
johnnygeesw, off top of my head, I want to say that has to do with some math...i.e., remove your /1000000 for interface speed and see if query works then. after figuring out where issue is, you can then figure out how to fix the issue.

Hey @"aLTeReGo", these links go to a general page and search is not yielding favorable results. can you put the actual titles of the linked videos or update the links...I'm banging my head against this currently. Thanks!

I've got a SQL script that pulls IPs/masks from NCM to NPM interfaces to custom properties to populate on map for live documenting, but i see what you're saying where traps/syslog sourced from one of those aren't associated with the node itself... I think this is a feature request or something SW has to comment on...

golden. got a lot of results now. I did just infoblox and got what you did line for line! Excellent, thanks much

It shouldn't be. I have WAY more than that on both of my polling engines and am not having any major issues. (have 3rd on order, so I end up missing some polls which causes graph inconsistencies).

My GUESS at what Don? was saying was that your DB and poller would be at the remote location and do everything locally to that site. You would then use some type of reporting tool or SQL Query to gather the data you need from the remote sites (and merge them with local data queries) to populate your reports. You would have…

LOL! I'll admin, it does stick.

ok, I had a ticket opened for this. the following worked for me: let me know if the following steps help, if not i would need a copy of the diagnostics and screenshot on how you configure the send as pdf in a doc file and export to us, so we can send for discussion: Orion NPM will use NPM Server’s local Browser to do that,…
-
can you export and attach UnDP here and what type of device are you running it against?
-
you can't use "ID". you have to look at the column names in the DB to get the REAL COLUMN NAME. What type of component are you looking to do this for?
-
I never opened a case b/c I was able to find a workaround. Probably should have so they know and can track.
-
the node is reporting up because (I expect) the pings are still responding; thus it is up. It just can't get stats via SNMP until you update Orion with that.
-
ayup! understood. I definitely get the uniqueness aspect, as I made a custom alerts page...that was fun. The report did give me enough of a starting point to satisfy my immediate needs. Thanks much!
-
go into your alert that gets triggered and into trigger actions -> towards the bottom, there will be an escalation button...what version are you running?
-
ok...think I made this way complicated. .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.147.1.2.1.1.1.2.6 Primary .7 is Secondary (this is absolute no matter which FW you poll in a pair) it will just append (this device) to it as appropriate .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.147.1.2.1.1.1.4.6 Primary .7 is Secondary -> Active or Standby result So, if I only poll the…

I think one of the application "variables" gives you all items within that app...maybe "componentsWithStatus..."; 3 options, you'll have to play with. insert variable and search global for status or componentsWithStatus
-
I think I know what you are trying to do now. I resolved this (a lot of work) by using sub maps that have all of the individual ports on it. So I have 6509. I have a map that has the 6509 icon, then I have 8 sub-maps that are of the blade icon. each port has an object overlaid that is tied to the interface in orion. see…

no problem, hope it helped! oops, wrong thread. :)

I've had same issue (today actually) with 7.1.1 and 10.4. removed from NPM, went to re-add and checked add to NCM -> already exists in NCM.
