Is it possible to add the Maps tab to an existing, custom view?

It looks like they might have rolled the long time format into the main Events Summary page sometime since 10.7, which is really awesome. The "Last X Events" resource still only goes to the minute, though, so I could tweak this post to be more focused on that.

The screenshot from the original post is from a much older version of Orion, probably 10.7 or so.

Will, you say this is "nothing groundbreaking" but with 90+ perfstack dashboards in our environment this is a LIFE SAVER. Thank you!!
-
Just slap that into a scheduled task and you're good to go

I'll do some testing on my end, but I'm on v3.3 instead. What is your AD polling interval? I think the default is 30min, so it may take some time for UDT to scrape the logins from your logs.

Once you get used to the new web console features in NPM 10.7 it's hard to go back to anything else
-
bah, I thought this was talking about linking your SWID with the web console so I got the last wrong "wrong" because I've never been able to get that to work. That's what happens when the 2:30 blues hits you hard

Thanks for the heads up on this. I just did a bunch of research on the Hardware Health bugs because NPM 10.6 is squawking about our new core switch, and remember seeing some threads from when this was an issue before 10.4. The best response I saw from the team was that a fix wasn't high on their priority list, so they just…

Can you shed some light on "Flow Insights for Palo Alto"?

All this love for Palo.... this is a GREAT MOVE for SolarWinds!

Congrats to all the new MVPs! Welcome to the club, prepare for a year full of SolarWinds goodness!

You will need to enable L2/L3 polling for the node, and also be monitoring the uplink interfaces. If the links aren't being detected automatically, you can create them manually with the new Orion Maps.

Sorry this isn't a helpful comment, but I wanted to let you know that your company made the right choice. I was in the same boat, and SCOM was impossible compared to Orion. Glad to see you're making the switch

I love this thread. Here's a dashboard with a lot of fun new tools:

After creating a custom poller for OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.9 (be sure to change the Polling Type to "Interface"), you'll need to transform the results from time ticks to something readable like minutes or hours. This transform rule will display how long it's been since the interface changed. Here's a reference for those…

Agreed, every link I've clicked in Google just sends me to the main Success Center page. Not good!

In the Node Properties for your ASA, enable "Advanced Cisco ASA Monitoring" and enter a set of credentials with sufficient privileges: After that, ensure the default view for your ASA is set to "Node Details for ASA - Summary" Your ASA's new summary page should include a sidebar on the left, here you can choose between…

Just to be sure, do you have any ACLs in place that would prevent the Orion server from reaching this device via SSH? Additionally, are you using a custom device template?

When the system went down, was there any maintenance or upgrades going on? Please keep us posted on how things are going

The desk in the datacenter... it is past the point of saving.

Someone did this back in NPM v10, but I haven't seen anything like it for later versions
-
Also I'm disappointed that there's no apparent way to remove interfaces from the ignore list in bulk. God forbid you add switches to the ignore list... you have to manually select each interface in order to remove them from the ignore list. Is there a better way around this, as well?

Try this SWQL query out: SELECT n.NodeAllEndpoints.PortNumber ,n.NodeAllEndpoints.ConnectedTo ,n.NodeAllEndpoints.HostName ,n.NodeAllEndpoints.MACVendor ,n.NodeAllEndpoints.IPAddress ,n.NodeAllEndpoints.MACAddress ,n.NodeAllEndpoints.MACVendorIcon ,n.NodeAllEndpoints.VLAN FROM Orion.Nodes AS n WHERE…

This was a symptom I had after initially upgrading to UDT v3.3, but a hotfix seems to have taken care of it. There were some extra steps that support had me do, though. Here's the full Hotfix procedure they gave me: 1) Do the following for ALL POLLING ENGINES with UDT installed Use an Administrator account to log in to the…

Thank you, I found it under "Messages Queued for Submission". Perfect!
