Don't forget to consider using KMSigma's guide for building your Orion server! http://blog.kmsigma.com/2016/10/30/how-i-build-an-orion-server/

Do you have the hotfix for NPM 12.2? It was just recently released, and if I remember correctly it addresses something related to NOC views. I would also suggest stopping/starting your services just to see if that helps. Did you make any changes to any files within SolarWinds or the website? I remember breaking these dots…

This can actually be done outside of the SDK with the native Orion Reports. Here's a breakdown on how to do this using UDT: Add a Custom Table resource and use this as your content selection: Add "DateTime", "Caption", and "Used Port in Percent" to the table and change the highlighted options: Make sure your table is set…
-
I would recommend assigning custom properties to your hubs and using those as a method to filter a dashboard widget or a report, that will help you break the data up easily. Take a look at the UDT Unused Ports section in Orion, it's tucked way down at the bottom of the column picker:
-
You're not alone! I've got a case open with development right now. What version of UDT are you running? They were able to provide me with a buddy drop that worked for UDT v3.2.4. The fix was supposedly implemented into UDT v3.3 but it doesn't appear to be working correctly. I'm chasing this one down, don't you worry I've…

Seems most folks are posting their Active Alerts page instead of the Active Alerts resource, oops! Here is one of my NOC screens with the Active Alerts resource. It used to take up the same amount of area that the current "Nodes with Problems" resource does. Look at all that white space! One solution would be to let NOC,…

This has been logged as a bug by the SolarWinds dev team. I would assume it will be addressed in a future release.
-
Update: Re-ran the config wizard for the website, the same changes were made to the discovery. I'll open a case to see if this is expected behavior.
-
I love this thread. Here's something fun I came up with to show all of our locations in a small amount of space: Each cube is assigned the status of a group for all nodes at that site

OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.392.1.3.1 worked for our ASASM's, which is included in aLTeReGo's UnDP Nice work
-
I would create a new report and add the Custom Table resource, which will allow you to choose the data that goes into the report.
-
I am looking forward to hopefully seeing the best of both worlds. I know I'll be investing a bit in the IPO

We're currently using UnDP's to monitor the total connections running through our ASA 5512-X's (OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.147.1.2.2.2.1.5.40). It's a very useful metric that everyone takes into account when scaling/planning a network. We also use OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.147.1.2.1.1.1.3 on our ASASM's to detect active/standby status.…

What's the status of your SolarWinds services? Goes the Orion Module Engine keep stopping/restarting every few minutes?
-
ipMonitor has been end-of-life for some time now. NPM has significant improvements in reporting, alerting, dashboards, pollers, and everything else that makes a monitoring tool great. NPM also integrates with the other tools in the Orion suite (SAM, NTA, NCM, etc) to give you a single console to work from if you are…

I don't have any devices with multiple contexts, so I won't be a ton of help here, but I would suggest reaching out to support so they can look it over. Are there any differences between the ASAs that are working, and this one ASA that is not? Code versions, auth methods, privilege levels, timeout settings, etc?

alexslv Made something for this, you can find it here.

Hi mthampi! Welcome to Thwack Are you referring to the settings for the CPU load resource?
-
Where does this resource store its data? I had to reinstall Orion and I am missing the last 12 months worth of outage information. Thanks in advance.
-
Hi Gob, I've copied the files into my directory but the resources are not showing up. I'm on 10.6 at the moment and used the files from the 10.6 folder in your download. Any suggestions would be welcome Thanks, - Nick

Try setting up a NetPath using port 80 to Google. I assume that you're using your Orion server as the probe, can you get to the internet from your probe server?
-
Don't forget to use THWACK to search for solutions to any hurdles you come across, there is years and years of knowledge in these forums!
-
I would consider submitting a ticket and having a rep help you via a GoToMeeting. I had all sorts of trouble when I went from 10.6 to 10.7 and ended up calling support.

In UDT you can build a whitelist of allowed devices (it checks via MAC, hostname, or IP). You'll need to be monitoring all of your switchports (including AP uplinks) in order to make sure you have full visibility. There are canned alerts that will notify you if you have rogue devices, and at the moment there isn't a native…

I know there was a bug with agent nodes not being able to be unmanaged, not sure if this is the same issue. You can remove nodes from UDT in the UDT_NodeCapability table in the DB if worst comes to worst.

We have a Procera packet shaper that is being incorrectly recognized, and the interfaces show no traffic so I'm guessing the MIBs are wrong. We've got the MIB files from Procera but obviously can't add them. Let me know where I can send the SNMPWalk info if you want it. OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.15397.2
-
Right now we have 75 of these ASA's on our network, and only about half of them are being recognized. Of the half that are, their machine type is just "Cisco" instead of something more specific. The other half is still "Unknown". 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1407 Cisco ASA 5512X

SAM doesn't return the expiration date for more than one certificate unless you use AppInsight for IIS. This is a problem because not all certificates are used in IIS... some are installed in other applications on the server. It would be nice to be able to see all certificates in the store and their expiration dates.
