I agree and feel like they missed the mark on this product launch.

I only know what support has told me which is the below OIDs that are used and how Orion calculates it. Now I won't even get into what my Linux Admins think about this formula.. Came from the SNMPwalk: Total RAM in machine: .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.4.5.0 = INTEGER: 197553772 Total RAM available: .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.4.6.0 = INTEGER:…

Once that neighbor interface is administratively shut down, the state shouldn't change at all though causing a re-trigger correct? It should remain 'idle' which is the problem I'm having. Neighbors that have been idle are once a month showing some form of state change which is re-tripping the alert, even though a previous…

Unfortunately, the only option is the global setting. We ended up having to get creative with dashboards and view limitations to move the site with the known response times.
-
Thanks for the response. That looks a bit dated and I'm not sure provides much more than what I already have unfortunately. I have the connection counts, was hoping for a more granular break down. IE: PC vs. MAC agents that are connected to the VPN, so that could maybe do some reporting around vague numbers of VPN related…

We've discussed this many times over the last few years. I couldn't agree more, it's a different company when you're answering to your share holders and not your customers.
-
I've seen those log entries even on nodes that I add that DO work properly initially. Not sure I would focus on that yet. Is SQL listening on the default ports and on a network that your Orion can communicate with over those ports? I've also seen where moving the node to another polling engine and back and then re-running…

Bump - Anyone else run into this issue? I'm following the below documentation for how Net-SNMP calculates things but I'm definitely seeing negative numbers on these new boxes with 192GB Memory installed. Trying to determine if maybe this is some sort of integer32 limitation with net-snmp Success Center

Dang that's what I feared. Moving quickly into spaces like that will be critical for SolarWinds to keep up with other monitoring solutions. Unfortunately I lose leverage almost instantly when I recommend bringing in a solution like DPA when there is a gap such as Redshift. Thanks for the information!

The below linked fixed the issue for me. Modifying the limitations of copy view affects the original view - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support

All of the Office 365 templates that pull the Service Health information from the Office 365 Admin portals that are configured to use the https://api.admin.microsoftonline.com/shdtenantcommunications.svc such as: Microsoft Office 365 Exchange Online I currently am using the Exchange, Portal, SharePoint and OneDrive…

Thank you, this is helpful.

This road map hasn't been updated in almost a year. Can we get an updated road map for this product such as the other SW products?
-
Most of them look to be custom reports. This will be very helpful though and give me a much better launching point than I initially thought. Though I did see some items not associated with reports, the majority of the important ones according to my engineers are, so thank you again for the assist.
-
My apologies, I'm inheriting NCM but have little experience with it. So if I export the report as a file, does that grab the underlying policy/rules that are associated with it?
-
Thanks - I think what is frustrating for me is I've always been told if it's urgent call. In the past when pressed by my management to have a SolarWinds engineer or someone on standby for big upgrades/migrations I was told by support and our previous account rep that there was no need, just call us we're always here. So…

Are you all working on Flat Log Files through the Linux Agents as well? I've been waiting to see the updated "What we're working on" information. Hoping this is one of those items we can expect in the next release!
-
Verify excited for the addition of application log files. I'm really hoping in the next version it will also support log files from Linux servers as well.
-
Along those same lines I would love to just see better F5 integration all the way around. To be able visualize the F5 data in Perfstack, or add it to native dashboards (w/o having to use iframes) and things like that would be fantastic.
-
I am surprised and maybe a little disappointed to still not see Postgres on the DPA road map anywhere.

That's what we're trying to understand and want a definitive answer to. Do they truly provide more scalability at a lower cost or is this a sales gimmick increasing costs where they aren't needed? If adding more stacked APEs on hardware for an application that was licensed as "Unlimited" does truly allow me to scale due to…

I agree with your assessment and would really like to hear a definitive response from SolarWinds on this...

I can't get migrated from 2008R2 fast enough!

Love all of this! Thanks for sharing!

What I did was created a 'Highly_Utilized' Custom Property that I could then add an exclusion condition to my alert rules for. So for nodes that tend to be running hot but it's expected behavior I can have those excluded from my default rules. I then created a rule for the highly utilized nodes that is a bit more lenient.…

I'm not sure what the official support is. That said as long as your talking about running it on a virtual machine, and not trying to figure out how to make it work in a container or something like that. I don't see why it would be a problem. A virtual machine is just a virtual machine, where it lives shouldn't really…

Either method should work just fine for hosting your SW database. One to keep in mind is licensing costs/differences in the various methods. Unless things have changed, Failover clustering only required one set of SQL Licenses for the 'active' node in the cluster where as with Availability Groups everything is…

I will say every time without fail I've seen web console responsiveness improve fairly noticeably when moving web services to an additional web server. Will it improve your primary polling engine performance or improve DB performance? Eh, I'm guessing if those areas are having issues, the web services probably aren't the…

Each action is fully configurable from that perspective. Under 'Execution Settings' for each action you can specify if you want it repeated after X number of minutes or not. You can minimize your flapping by adjusting the amount of down time and up time required for your alerts and clears. This is a good practice to rule…
