  • So I've long been wondering about display of utilization. Why is that a requirement that both ends of the link need to be managed to display utilization. For example, how can I display utilization of my ISP uplink? Obviously, I don't manage my ISP's router, but displaying utilization of that link is probably more important…
  • Finally support found the problem. It was a bug. If I select units "bps" it will have this problem. Removing unit show correct utilization albeit with lots of zeros. they promised a fix in next update.
  • That's what I thought. I opened a ticket with support, because my graphs of "average over 1min" shows 1mbps utilization while the 1.5mbps is in use (it's a T1). To rephrase this, I have a lot of T1s and it can be 100% utilized for 3-4hrs at 1.5Mbps, which correctly shows in cacti (which I'm trying to retired), but Orion…
  • Not really. I do want a graph. For example, the multiple interface graph is sort of what I am after (on network summary page). I guess now question is more about what is "Average bps". So I'm suspecting if I select average with 1 minute sampling intervals it will be current "more or less". Am I getting this right?
  • Well, this is the dilemma: There isn't a data source that shows current utilization in bits/s. Is Average with 1 minute Sample Interval considered "current"? For example, there is "received percent utilization" data source, but there is not a "received bitps utilization". This is just odd to me.
