Alert-suppression based on dependencies is planned for an upcoming release. Not so fast denny to suggest your answer as the "solution". My question was a two parter. Do not assume that I am referring to "dependant" nodes. I was just making an example. Your suggested solution is part of the problem for what you are thinking…

Regarding updating how NPM works to better align with best practices. I've opened an internal bug case to track this request (FB104296), but unfortunately we have no immediate plans to change how this works. Umm. Im not sure you understand. Third Tab in the above link. "Additional Polling Engine" It Extends your primary SLX funtionality to handle more elements. Assume each polling engine (one on the primary server "SLX", and any additional polling engine) can each support about 10,000 elements. Failover Polling Engine is a hot standby when its associated…

While i like the idea of implementing this, if you don't use the UN/manage option would that not affect the Uptime reports? While this would suppress alerts, WebConsole, charts and REPORTS would show the downtime. Wouldn't it be nice if the Alerts would exclude based on a date in the custom property fields... FROM and TO.
