  • Denny, Sorry to beat on you some more over this, but this kind of issue is not what we expect from the vendor of an application that aspires to be enterprise-class. Making a significant change to a fundamental behavior is not good, making it a forced change is worse, and not mentioning it anywhere in the documentation…
  •  Dave, Has the DLLHOST memory problem been fixed for you? I'm seeing the same thing here. Thanks,
  • I think you are going to be out of luck if you aren't reusing the same database. The maps only know the nodes by their node ID, so if you create new nodes in the new system, the node IDs won't match the proper map objects. You will have the old backgrounds and graphics, but you'll have to place new nodes on the maps.
  •  Kevin - I have had too many bad experiences with Orion upgrades (in particular, with issues involving reinstalls and having to get new license keys) to ever do an upgrade out of support hours again. Make sure you have your licenses available from the web site before you start. I had to call twice to get all of the proper…

We had a lot of issues (missed polls, in particular) when we tried seperating our pollers via a fairly robust WAN link. Eventually, SW told us "that's not a supported configuration" and…
  • I'd like to see some real management for the mapping functions. For instance, what maps is a node on? What are the links between the maps? What maps contain deleted nodes? A search and replace nodes on maps function would be great. When you get to have tens and hundreds of maps, it becomes a major task to manage them all…

  •  We run our pollers on GMT, but the SQL database is on a shared server which runs on CDT. The only issue I've noticed is that the Polling Engine Status will show the Last Database Sync time to be off by 5 hours (the amount of offset from GMT).
  • quote:Originally posted by ceclark Anyone know if SW will be offering DPE's in versions other than SLX? We have some "smaller" sites where there are 100-200 elements and it's not very cost effective to buy an SLX poller for those sites. Do you really need a polling engine just for those small sites? We have multiple…

We have reported several bugs and have seen no fixes for the past 6 months. There's no reason to pay support if there aren't going to be any updates. SW won't see any…
