It does not appear to happen in Firefox or Edge for me.

We do not use asset discovery connector. All of our new assets are imported in every semester. When a student leaves, their computer is set to a retired status so it will no longer show up in our inventory, but the child assets do not change. I guess I will have to download the asset export and manually change them.

That is what I gathered from looking but wanted to make sure. Sure would be nice if it could be locked down, especially being at a tech level. Thank you for looking and answering.

I was actually talking about parent assets, like a computer, and children assets associated with it, AC adapter, battery and such. When you change the status of the parent asset to retired, should it cascade down to the children assets?

In the picture you have above, I see that the request type "Epic" is in the list for the ticket custom field, which means that any ticket with the request type "Epic" that custom field will show. Uncheck that and it should no longer show up.

There is an option under Setup>Tickets>Options that you can set the default E-Mail recipients for when an action is made on a ticket (i.e closing or changing the ticket). Not sure if that is what you are looking for but it might help.

There is not a built in software manager in Help Desk that I am aware of. You could create a part in Web Help Desk with the information about the software and add the amount of inventory/licenses you have for that product.

The only way I know how to search via a custom field is by doing an advanced search in tickets. Go to the tickets tab then "Search Tickets". Under the advanced search you can select to search custom field. I'll attach a picture of what mine looks like to hopefully help you find it. I hope this is what you were looking for.

That would be a great thing to have as we assign assets to certain people in different locations. The only way I know how to change those is through editing the asset when it is assigned in the ticket. Clicking the pencil will bring up the asset information. In there you can edit the location and room then save at the…

What type of alerts are you talking about? Email alerts for low inventory?
-
I setup the alert for that specific component. Within the trigger actions of the alert, I set it to alert when the status is equal to "down", "Not Running" or "Unknown". It works very well on our print servers.

Look at the bottom of the ticket and see if Client is checked under Recipients. We ran into the same issue with surveys and had to change some settings around. If recipients is not checked, you will have to change the options under Setup>Ticket>Options. There was an option under there called "Default Settings for E-Mail…

Here is an article I found in the success center about creating tasks and what they can be used for. I have never ventured in creating one either. Create tasks - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support

We use it for detailed maps of the server rooms and the multiple locations we have. I create a map in visio then use the network atlas to place where the nodes are located.
