Thats why i had to put Orion on a physical box, we use citrix xen server for our VMs and it does not support USB pass through at the moment. Not sure if VMWARE does, if it does then you can plug the USB device into your main VMWARE server and your VMs should pick it up.

Sadly i believe the copy of notepager has to be installed on the orion server at least thats what i can remember from when i was installing it. You might be able to mess around with the install and the configuration of orionfor how it looks for it but as default it needs to be on the same server. We ahve ours working with…

I think if you edit the map size as the admin the this goes out to all the users. I just tested mine set the size to 70% and of course it changed for my admin user that i was logged in as. I logged out then back in as another user and the map size was the same. If it dont work then yeah maybe recreate them.

Excellent that worked perfect. Thanks a lot.
-
LOL how odd ok ill give that and go hopefully it will work.. i shall post back here in a bit :)

You can set an alert just for that specific server. So instead of setting it for all servers just set it up for the one you need to monitor. Then you wont be getting alerts every time a servers cpu hits 0%

I am pretty sure Hyper-V cant pass through any of the ports from the host machine..
-
Ah never used Hyper-V but im pretty sure it cant redirect any USB, COM or LTP ports...

I keep getting this now on our two master switches but they both hit exactly 50% packet loss. I can ping attached devices without any issues at all, always get 1ms response times as you would expect on an internal network. When I ping the switch I usually get a 2ms response but now and then it gets a high ping response.…

Hi Our Draytek 2820ns show up as unknown if grouped by vendor. If I group by Machine type then it shows up as Draytek.
-
can you see the edit button for the map section, you can shrink the size of the image there. not sure if this does it for everyone or just the logged in user tho.
-
This is the alert supprssion tab.. would this be an issue ? ITs not generating alerts at all..OTther alerts work perfectly that also have similar things in alert supprssion..
-
I dont have R2 running but am running 2008 ent running with SP1. I have installed the 30 day trial and it is worknig perfect.
-
I have noticed the response can be quite slow sometimes and I have also had it crash out on me, lucky at the time I was not doing any work on the maps. Also maps take an age to save.

My server Spec aint the best Core2duo running at 2.2G with 3gb of ram. I am running everything on this one box. My web interface appears to run without any issues. The only difference i see is that im not monitoring over 2000 items im still under 400.

Hi ok to start with what are you using to virtualise your servers? Xen, VM, Sun Virtual box? Once we know this we migth be able to help getting the serial port worknig as with some its possible to get a pass through working.
-
issue has not happened again as yet. Will keep monitoring and let you know.
-
Yeah the overview page like bshopp said. Brakes down each device listing all the ports, no need to click each node as its all displayed on that page. Ok it does list all nodes not just ones that are down but still it contains everything you need.
-
Do you need screens of the other tabs?
-
yeah it would be nice to have this feature.. and btw that link you posted to AIS is really cool to see all those boats tracked LOL
-
I dont think he is sayng they are sharing the same database. The eval one has sql2005 on the same server and the production one has another seperate one.
-
Running 9.5 SP4 As for our system , its quite small I guess. 2 Master Switches (linksys SRW2024P) They are connected to 2 Base switches (Linksys SLM248G4s) Each connected to each other via a 1gb etherent link. The orion server is connected to one of the master switches, the one that had the issue. We also have out servers…
-
Do certain switchs give less priority to ping packets then? Thats what im guessing as I can ping everything else fine on the network just the switches themselves high a high ms reponse.
-
yeah thats what i meant thanks
-
quite new to orion.. looking at the cpu graph there always appears to be activity on that CPU. Could you setup a seperate alert trigger for that server to alert you when the CPU util hits 0% Guess this is a crude way of doing sure someone thats knows a lot more will be along soon lol
-
have had the transmit shoot sky high on mine a few times too, happens on a few different devices.
-
Dont sound too complicated and you should be able to setup them up with the standard alerts. Check out the guides that come with orion, you should be able to pick up the basics from there. :)
-
We use a mix of Symbion and blackberry, so i selected other.
-
Can we get a few more details. What kind of error are you getting? Also quicky run us through how you set up the email alerting. Thanks Mike Smith

I have a feeling they have problems with accepting pings. If I ping a device that is connected through the switch with high ping in orion I will get a 1ms response time but if I ping the switch I never get below 2ms but somes times a lot more.
