Definitely need this!

Need this, we are struggling with maintenance windows and patching cycles, getting blown up with alerts is like having no alerts at all.

Wow, we just added NPM, our Cisco Controller is working, very disappointed that Ruckus Virtual SmartZone controller not working!!

I guess I really don't want to unmanage the nodes at all - many of them could still have configuration changes, etc that I need to backup via NCM - they just aren't important enough to alert on except for specific weeks of the year. The group of devices is also very dynamic - I can't have a bunch of pre-created scheduled…

Well this is interesting, I enabled session tracing and tried all three tests again in the "FIX CONNECTION IN DEVICE TEMPLATE" wizard General Device Access: Test is successful, file is 136K Running Config Download: Test is successful, file is 813K Startup Config Download (Binary) No file is generated, I immediately get the…

I tried to work with that, the utility is very unwieldy. It doesn't help that it's outside of the Orion platform. In addition, many of these devices will be online - we just "don't care" if anything happens to them until the next event starts. Some locations will shut down buildings for the winter, while others will leave…

Hi, I used these instructions: https://support.solarwinds.com/Success_Center/Network_Configuration_Manager_(NCM)/Back_up_the_F5_UCS_file_in_NCM_7.5_and_other_binary_files_such_as_.tgz_and_.tar They mention in step 5 to setup the binary storage. I made a share on my solarwinds server and It does pass the validation test…

It's the same structure as the original files, the only difference is I index on different fields - I use a custom field "Site" and "Building" for the 1st and 2nd level maps instead of City/State. Otherwise it uses the same code as the original files. These always work correctly under normal circumstances, they only fail…

OK, I'm trying something new here - Map has been working great, and we want to make a NOC view that flips between tabs, each with a different site. Rather than using city/state references mine is modded to key off of a "Site" and "Building" I've setup 4 tabs, each with a slightly different URL. The problem I run into is…

Last year I had the same question in this thread about 3 pages back. You MUST have the state field - whenever I removed it from the code it would break. On the bright side, the state field appears completely unnecessary, as the map will always center around wherever the nodes actually are regardless of what state was…

So in reply to my own comment, I've dug into the code quite a bit now and I've managed to re-work this so the main page shows all of my sites, grouped together via a custom field "Site" instead of City. From there, if you click the hyper-link to a site, you will get a map of all buildings at that site with correct…

I have this working as-is although it looks like the functionality has changed quite a bit - the main page, which seems to need a State defined to work, just does a framed view of all my nodes no matter what state they are in anyway. Then when you click on a "city" node, it seems to group all of the nodes in that city…

I can see it's been over 4 years and this is still not in the product? I can see the auto-dependency already knows which is down and which is unreachable - we need a mechanism to put this in an alert!! for instance, I have an example node below - we just need some kind of function to show these dependencies in the email.

Well, I've worked out a way to accomplish this. It's a little clunky but it works. Here's what I did: 1. Create a new boolean custom property called "ActiveEvent" on all nodes 2. Create a new custom property called "Site" and apply a site tag to all nodes 3. Create 2 alerts 3a. First alert says "For site #1, if ActiveEvent…

I spoke with tech support and this is now resolved - the issue was in the Connection profile. The "Transfer Configs" needs to be set to SCP, mine was at SSH2 Here is a screen of my working settings And here is my binary file at the top of the list:
