  • I see some exciting new features in there. Looking forward to the production release.
  • DanielleH, Just opened case # 342268 for this.
  • There's nothing special about my internet access, just regular NAT. I cleared the cache from one the browsers I tried earlier, that resulted in the same error. I tried from a Windows XP machine that hasn't been used to access my LEM web console, same error. Both attempts showed [a:c] in the top right. Trying from a machine…
  • Phil, I've been able to try your suggestions without any luck. I've tried a few other things such as waiting a couple hours after creating the connector and closing all consoles but still no luck. Next step is to open a trouble ticket. I'll be sure to report back the results later. Thanks for the input!
  • Everything in the parent Correlations group is subject to the operator on the right hand side. Triangle represents the AND operator, half circle represents the OR operator. You can click on the shape to toggle between AND and OR operators. If you want to nest conditions you can click the Group icon found in the upper right…
  • There doesn't seem to be a graceful way. I'm guessing your best bet may be to find a way to convert the Process you want to restart into a MS Windows Service. That's not something I'm familiar with though.
  • I see what you're saying now. To change that behavior, SSH into your manager appliance and go into the Appliance menu. There is a hostname command in there. I believe that will get you your desired result.
  • The guest user was automatically populated for me. I believe it was guest11. This happened on my first attempt to access the Demo web page. I just tried again from a Windows 7 machine with Firefox and Internet Explorer. This time it auto populated guest12 and guest13 and returned the same error. Also tried from a different…
  • Phil, Exactly what setting is it that I need to edit in the Directory Service Query Tool to allow logging in as domain\username instead of domain.com\username? I tried changing the Domain Name entry in the Directory Service Query Tool connector from domain.com to domain. A Test Domain Connection shows as successful, but…
  • Does it provide any clues or text as to why you cannot modify the rule? Are all the options grayed out? I suggest logging out then logging back into the console then try again, or try from another machine. If that doesn't work, verify that the LEM username has the correct role.
  • If I'm understanding you correctly, it seems like the following screenshot will fit your requirements
  • I have this same problem. Also need some guidance on how to deal with these alerts.
  • Have you checked your SolarWinds Alerts filter for any events that related to the Exception Logged error?
  • I believe the Restart Windows Service and Start Windows Service actions only apply to actual services, while mspaint.exe is not a service. Try testing your rule with a registered service and see if it behaves the way you expect.
  • Not sure why you can't uninstall remotely. Does it give you any error messages? I've found that you need to manually delete the entry from the console when an agent no longer exists.
  • Click the gear icon to the left of your manager and choose Configure from the menu that drops down. Type in the new hostname of your manager. When you click the Save button it should update the manager name.
  • I suspect you are typing your query into the wrong search box. What you want to do is create a search where IP Address = 10.20.30.40. See screenshot below:
  • I've had similar experiences which seemed to start around November 2012 but it seemed to occur about once a week. One thing you can try is opening a CLI session to your Manager and restart the Manager service, it should be quicker than a reboot. Technical support seems to have fixed the problem or at least alleviated it…
  • I ran into an error after it attempted to login with a guest user. See screenshot below. This was from Firefox 19.0.2 on Windows 7.
  • Create a UDG with the DetectionIP of the one machine. Create a UDG with only the whitelisted device. Add a new AND Group to your Correlations box that contains [DetectionIP does not contain the UDG with that machine] AND the [ExtraneousInfo does not contain the UDG that has the USB of that whitelisted device].
