Hi, you are right that list of vmware hosts resource can't be move on the summary page because this resource do not have a differentiators that would show you who is the parent cluster of each host. you would ended up with long list of VMWare hosts. Not sure how much that would be useful for you. IF you really want that…

Hi, you can't do that for all views via some kind of batch/bulk process.

Hi Kieran, here come answers: * What's the difference between discovering for an IP range or a subnet - am I missing something obvious here? A:Specifying subnet, which means network address and mask, is just a different way how user can specify an IP range. NPM generates IP range for the whole subnet automatically. * If I…

hi guys, we are looking for SNMP walks for Ruckus WL APs - ideally with firmware 9.4 or hire. can you help here and send it to michal.hrncirik@solarwinds.com?

Hi, this is functionality is not in the IPAM. Anyway, you may see what are we working on and you can find out that we want to add the User Delegation feature. Does this resolve your problem (you may create more groups/users with different privileges) or you would still need an "audit reporting"? thanks, Michal
-
Hi, I updated our internal feature request on this. thanks!
-
Hi, the log files for VNQM are located here: \ProgramData\Solarwinds\Logs\IPSLAM you may try to find the error message, but rather than that, I'd call support and they should be able to help you quickly.

NBAR2 beta ready: Better application traffic visibility - NTA 4.2 Beta using NBAR2

Hi Aaron, FTP is needed only for VoIP and CDRs - pulling data from Call Manager FTP server. If you would use option that removes CDR files from FTP once they are transmitted to VNQM, then you need also a write access. otherwise readonly is enough.

Hi calremo, NPM should support that device but there are known issues where IOS is obsolete (2010 and earlier) and it suffers from mem leaks or duplicate if-indicies. the best is to download and evaluate on your environment. thanks, Michal

Hi brownw3311, If you run Orion's discovery you can pick up what do you want to import. So can't you just select what is missing or you have too many devices that discovery wizard UI doesn't give you enough flexibility?

Hi, the main difference between IPSLAManager and NTA is that IPSLA generates traffic/operations for measuring the desired quality aspect of your network (for instance VoIP jitter, latency or network latency) whereas NTA do a NetFlow analysis of real network data. IP SLA is a Cisco technology that basically allows you…
-
Hi Taina, I'm not aware of IPSLA incompatibility with entry level LAN Lite devices if they run the IOS we required for IPSLA. It's truth that we do not test them regularly, but if you can share you model number we may validate the IPSLA supportability for that device.

you may also check this post, the UI is full-text search for syslogs too with possibility to show you entire log body. this will get a new fast search engine and account limitation feature - NPM unified and syslog search preview Is that still lacking something so you prefer to have standalone app?
-
could you please write down the use case you trying to solve? it would help me understand the problem. thanks
-
we are working on a native support right now. If you, or anyone else can send use SNMP walks from your Motorola wireless devices it would help us to cover more models. feel free to send it directly to michal.hrncirik@solarwinds.com

Hi, thanks for sharing your problem. First of all, let me recap your issue: you would like to move IPAM to separate server because your users are complaining about Orion server availability correct? There is no global answer to your question if it will be better to run IPAM as a standalone or as a module. But let explain…

hi gunner2510, just found this has been unanswered. You may find this similar thread useful: I like Network Guru's approach where he set the speed of VLAN interfaces to 95th percentile of monthly traffic (in his case 3Gbps).
-
good input. I've created internal feature request for this. thanks!
-
Hi Peter, that should not be a problem if you were able to add this DHCP server as node into IPAM. Can you tell me where you stuck in the process?
-
good input guys, I obviously don't wont to build a product that requires additional work for you so we will take a look at this problem. I've also created an idea do you and others may vote here: http://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/2718 Would you like to have this functionality automatically active in IPAM or would you…

RC1 is available guys:

It would be cool if you guys may try and confirm that following things working in your environment: - Monitoring if Cisco ASA Dhcp - search by custom property or IP address thanks, Michal

Hi, you would have to modify Orion's database (table settings) directly if you don't want to do that from the web console. But I don't recommend doing this.
-
Hi, does ping -a command work? In IPAM DNS name is being resolved to the HostName field, but when you have SNMP scanning enabled for the subnet, and you have SNMP credentials for the devices on it, the System Name is being filled from the device SNMP system name.
-
Our IPAM doesn't do monitoring or manage Bluecat IPAM devices. What is your primary driver to monitor/manage that with SolarWinds IPAM instead using Bluecat native IPAM interface?
-
We get additional details via SNMP - I'd try to double check that these IP addresses that have no additional info can respond to SNMP.
-
do you have ActiveX enabled in IE8?
-
that could work via the custom resources. You can find some inspiration here: http://thwack.solarwinds.com/message/29001#29001 http://thwack.solarwinds.com/message/147004#147004 and also try to search on Thwack for the similar posts. thanks, Michal

Hi Larry, thanks for interesting feedback. I'll definitely discuss it with our UX team. thanks, Michal
