Hi Brandon, if you would use folders and put the external IP as a folder name and then put inside subnet that's going to be translated under such public IP, would that help to you? thanks, Michal

I can confirm that this is currently not supported by IPAM. We didn't get the strong uses cases for documenting non used IP addresses. The one thing you may do is to set IPAM not overwrite custom properties when IP address goes from used/reserved/transient to Available status, by ticking "Update but not erase manually…

working on that right now Mike. If you could share .PCAP of short conversation, it would be great and help us to move on.

Hi, this is unfortunately not possible today. IPAM requires direct visibility to those networks/ DHCP servers (like VPN tunnels). Additional poller is also not the best option as we understood from the users they want to use it more as "remote poller" not because of they running out if max. IP licenses per single machine.…

How about IP grous, does it makes sense to you to create IP groups for such purpose?

Hi karltbraun, If I understand you correctly you would need to see the percentage usage of your DHCP address scope where this scope doesn't contain all exclusion you defined on DHCP (like static/reserved addresses). This is possible if you use following chart: using this we give you the overview of DHCP scope utilization…

Hi, I've asked our architecture team to respond as this is one of the common questions so I thinks it's worth to refresh this topic.

Hi ttl, IPSLA and VNQM is the same product. IPSLA has been re-named two years back to VoIP and Network Quality Monitor. Formerly it only consisted from IPSLA functioanlity but we added a lot of real VoIP quality monitoring. Can you point me plese to the page that refers to IPSLA only? To your Video monitoring question. We…

Hi, if you know the formula then I would use new reporting and create report with chart and then use "reports from report writer" that will show up your custom report. Or you may do it in a simply way and add "custom query resource" (via customize page) and select data you need. let me know if that worked for you. thanks,…

Hi, interesting request. the thing is that we are useing a different colors for various events. so in a case you filter one specific events, you can see just one color. I'll create a feature request for this. I don't think you can modify it via hack right now, because you need odd and even css class for this which is now…

Hi Josh, we are actually investigating support for MS Lync for VNQM, it's one of our highest priorities for the future. If you want to monitor at least some MS Lync statistics, you can use SAM (Server And Application) monitor that offers MS Lync templates (include SIP statistics):

I'd like to say big thanks to all who already contributed and sent us their walks - our DEV team was very pleased by that. thanks again, Michal

Hi Tony, this looks like a bug. Do you use latest version (4.1)?

Hi ">Fejiro Okagbare, VoIP and Network Quality Manager is now compatible with Cisco Call Managers only. There is no problem to monitor the voip traffic if your gateways are not Cisco devices, because we are using Call Managers as a source for the VoIP quality data. The best thing to do is to download our RC build if your…

Hi Deltona, I'm aware of this issue (you guys voting for this here: http://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/3290) . I fully agree with you here, it's missing functionality in IPAM which I would like to add rather sooner than later. We want to implement this feature fully as you described. no need to learn things twice If things…

Hi, I think you asking for the same question here: http://thwack.solarwinds.com/message/174533#174533

Hi Rick, we are working on new web-based reports for VNQM that should cover exactly the situation you talking about. As a temporary workaround, you an use & customize old reporting: or click "Report" in top menu, click "Show SQL" and import the SQL into web-based reporting in Orion: and then Export into spreadhseet:

Hi Foonly, thanks for very good feedback, specially for technical details. I'd like to also hear from the others how it works and what are devices that works or may not work so we can collect OIDs and SNMP walk and work on the support of those devices for the future.
-
hi turnstone, this doesn't need to be a known problem. can you please either specify your device more closely or open a support ticket so our dev may take a look on your diagnostics. thanks, Michal
-
Hi, what do you describe is actually "by design". We are looking for "Networking" subview automatically because we assume this is a right place for your HW health related information. It's searched by name so there is no chance to pass this information into scripts, etc. But you my try to extend this page by resources you…

Hi sgenius, glad to hear you would like to use IPAM. I'm product manger of this product. I'd like to help you with your questions: 1) IPAM is able to monitor utilization of your subnets (end-IP like PCs or servers via ICMP and SNMP protocol). You need to know IP address range you want to monitor (like 192.168.1.0 -…

Hi, there is no build in functionality but you may try following workaround: 1) Install IPAM and Toolset on the same machine. 2) Open the IP Address Management in Toolset and add a subnet 3) copy the .IPDB file from Toolset ( in 2008 it will be available in C:\Program data\solarwinds) and place it in IPAM folder. (…

Hi, for DNS you still need to have "power user" role as Orion user to do so. Currently there is no dependency for DNS and IP address limitation. We are aware of it and want to bring unified limitation settings in the future. thanks, Michal

Split Scope is ready to test in IPAM 3.1 beta: http://thwack.solarwinds.com/message/179749#179749

Hi, if those IPs are not managed by DHCP you can go to IPAM settings -> Manage subnets scan settings Transient period where you can set the time for "Transient" status. One of the possibilities is set there "unlimited" time which will cause that eve if your IP is not responding it will stays in "Transient" status instead…
-
What is most typical split scope scenario in your environment? 50:50 or 80:20? Let us know.

also, what about DHCP management. How big is this priority for you?
-
hi, have you tried to remove IIS pool that's there and reinstall? I would personally call support, that will be the fastest way to go.
