As we always trying to listen what problems you need to solve we decided to update content of "what we are working on" for IPAM. As you can see we added support for DHCP management and DNS monitoring there. The DHCP and DNS support will allow you to do a more effective management of your IP address space via SolarWinda…

I think it needs a closer investigation from the support side an ticket is required. But we will be happy if you may post an outcome of your problem. thanks, Michal

It would be also perfect if you guys can vote for your favorite feature here: http://thwack.solarwinds.com/polls/1027 I would like to also ask you, in this specific F5 thread, if you feel that build-in F5 support in NPM (including connections, throughput and virtual server monitoring) has a higher priority for you than a…

Our engineers are currently looking to this and they would really appreciate if you could share MIB walks of your F5 LTM devices with us. If you can help us you can upload them here to this thwack forum or contact me directly. thanks, Michal

thanks for inputs - we are actively considering this feature for future. I'd appreciate more details and because of this I'll be glad if you will respond to my private message and attend a short chat about how do you think this feature work from your perspective. thanks, Michal

Hi, was there anything as error message in the SolarWinds log files? That would help us to understand the root cause. Current alerting doesn't have something like "heartbeat" alerts. But, you may may for example write a fake alert (just configure any kind of alert that will be triggered all the time, like…

Hi, it's our existing feature request. We typically use additional polling engines because of increase of polling capacity/performance. In case of IPAM we don't have to solve this problem on polling engine side but on database engine. However, in a case you have an environment where you have NPN/SAM and additional polling…

Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts and for your willingness to make better products. I'll contact you offline and schedule a quick call. thanks again, Michal

i think it's because IPAM wants for initial ping-reply response. it should be synchronized in 1-2 minutes. if not it's reason for support ticket

Hi, what you did in the report writer is OK and now you just need to just select "available" reports on web console like this: then select reports that shouls appear at the webconsole: and finally you should see your report link: Please let me know if this resolved your issue. thanks, Michal

Hi, you probably mean when Node becomes "up" correct? You can use our Alert Manager (go to Windows start menu -> Solarwinds Orion -> Alerting and Reporting -> Alert Manager) where you can easily define an alert when node becomes available/in UP state. let me know if that helps. thanks, Michal

Hi Kish, as you wrote above, if you use "contains" statement in a name of poller and then Rate = 0 then it will be really evaluated for all together (logical OR) so you can't recognize if one was down for 2 minutes. I think You will have to specify it one by one to have independent trigger conditions. But the benefit of…

Hi folks, yes it makes perfectly sense to automate this process. I'm tracking this as request #137100.

Thanks for pointing to this problem. We will look at it and improve our upgrade process so you guys can properly upgrade products even after uninstall of evaluation.

Hi, could you ensure that you have configured only the command 'ip route-cache flow' on all the interfaces of your device and NO OTHER NetFlow commands like 'ip flow ingress' and 'ip flow egress' are applied on them?

Hi, we are working on support of MSM 760/765 devices for NPM. Our DEV needs to figure out what's the OID of Rogue AP detection. Could someone that has 760/765 and Rogue APs send me SNMP walk please? thanks, Michal
-
Hi, thanks for input, our QA will double check that. I'll report back asap. thanks for your help.
-
I guess you also do not see that via our HW health in NPM if you change the HW health MIB config correct?
-
Hi Jeff, we absolutely aware of that and currently working on testing 2012 DHCP & DNS services. IPAM 3.1 was not officially tested on MS 2012 DHCP and DNS but so far our QA haven't found any problems when managing 2012 version. I can't give you any specific date when we will officially and our testing of MS 2012 for IPAM…

hi an22, is fcaron's response something that you could use or you are looking for better capacity planing features? thanks.

Hi, what you have described is something that IPAM normally does. So it scans all IP addresses not just used/static ones. You just need to have them defined within IPAM ( you need to see each IP address that you want to poll as part of subnet detail page). IPAM will automatically detect if IP is responding and it changes…

tough question. I'm worried we don't have answer for this since cluster support for VNQM is waiting in the queue for investigation. I'm interested to see if somebody else does what D D wants manually or via script.

Hi Deltona, we are working on custom report that will do what you need.

Hi, just in short: SolarWinds Trap Service - handling device Traps messages SolarWinds Syslog Service - handling device Syslog messages SolarWinds Orion Module Engine - interact with MS Database and reads/writes polling data there. Solarwinds Information Service (v1 v2) - can interact with persistence storages (not just MS…

Hi Dan, IPSLA Manager doesn't provide any information about Nortel phone system. As you wrote, if you can use SNMP and OIDs for this system you can create your own universal device poller to obtain data you need. Does your VoIP network consist mainly from Nortel phone devices or is that only minor part? thanks, Michal
-
Hi, can you summarize expected behavior? If you put for instance other object than nodes or interfaces to the group how it should looks like when you unmanage a group? Could you please tell us what are you trying to achieve? thanks, Michal

Hi Oskar, because IPAM licensing is based on "used" IP Addresses you may create - pre-populate your subnets with all "Available IPs" in it and then let IPAM to keep scanning the subnets. if it finds newly used IP address you may get an alert and for licensing is just "-1" license even though you have all IP Addresses for…
-
Hi, there is a frequency set for each IPSLA operation. Did you wait at least for a next poll? If you shut down R2 then you should see operation as unavailable/down. In case you were waiting for a next poll I'd recommend to contact SolarWinds support for that. you may see last poll time as part of operation detail page.
-
what's the DNS server you have Deltona? This should work, have you asked support for help?
-
IPAM doesn't recognize between devices on licensing level. You give IPAM subnet and it simply scans through all IPs and gets the details (status + snmp info). For what you describe it looks you try to put "nodes" on Atlas, not IPAM IP addresses. there should be not a direct relation ship between IP address limit in IPAM…
