Active - active isn't possible within MS SQL, so solarwinds would need to build something to do full active - active within the product. Could you have both of the front ends talking to a back end that was using SQL failover clustering?

It's an interesting statistic, as there are still many 'unknown unknowns', but I agree that number seems low to me too.

Being based in the UK, this is something we see developing too.

Only just found this, really good article.

Poor Access Management Leads to $5.5M HIPAA Penalty This is only going to get worse, just look at GDPR. My inbox is full of companies selling security products under this threat.

It's interesting that one of the lines in the film certainly has come true. "RISC architecture is going to change everything" For a long while RISC was very much on the back burner, but now it's truly everywhere with the arm architecture being in our pockets every day and now slowly taking the desktop/laptop market. Hybrid IT is a little too far along the buzzword bingo scale for me. Those that work in IT will just adapt to what is available, then some marketing professional comes along and gives it a name.

I think you need to find something you can be passionate about, to ensure you can stay motivated.

Haha, very good. Although I disagree a little with what you say about "Work Smarter, not harder". We could all stop and think occasionally and look for another way, before hammering on in the same way we have done 10....20.....30 times.

Integrity, it comes with the role. It will catch up with them eventually.

USB drives, one of the biggest and one of the most convenient security holes. Most companies I've worked with have these disabled as default.

6 wide screens in the NOC, and then the person that has to fix it, ends up remote and only using a 13" mac book pro. I've always considered the wall boards of the NOC for management and the rest of the business and the NOC guys will be using something else.

It's very tricky to recruit for empathy, although I'd agree it's a very useful skill.

Thwack camp videos now up!

IoT, the S stands for security.

I'd agree, "never do the same stupid thing twice" is something I've said to my teams many times.

Take of advantage of all that is offered. Like has been said before you don't 'have to pay'

Thanks for this, love seeing more of the inside of the platform.

I think the reason is that they went into it early on with that in mind. The consultant they used is an interesting chap, Michael Bazzell. Computer Crime Presentations and Training

Adapt or die, as I say to my team members

Question 13 seems to be another opinion/how do you do it question but there seems to be a correct answer?

Hadn't come across the Juicero until today, very interesting article. Enjoyed the simulator too.
