Is it stable enough to use in production? I have a client that bought NPM, NTA, VNMQ, NCM and 3 pollers and is really interested in setting alarms based on traps and having traps for the node displayed in the node view. The current lack of this functionality in 2019.2 is causing problems in closing the implementation and…

Is the 2019.4 release out? All I could find is a release candidate. When I send the trap to the alerting engine can I extract any variables from it? I am trying to do this in order to use a field in the trap in the name of the generated alert, but I cannot get it to work with either $ or $. Any ETA on when this will be rolled out?

I installed 2019.4 RC 1 today and it looks great, haven't got around to testing alerts yet. I have one more question, does Orion or NPM take into account traps when it comes to routing protocols? For example if BGP or OSPF goes down or up and it recieves a trap, does it change the status of the protocol for the respective…

Yes, this would be very usefull!

I too am interested in a solution for this. I have a client with an Orion installation with SAML thru keycloak and the users keep trying the normal login instead of pressing the keycloak button that leads them to keycloak for login. It would be nice to have an iframe or something to just login using keycloak from the…

I have tried removing log analyzer from add remove and rebooting my lab instance and the license expired is still there.

Thank you, I will try it in a lab as well.

This seems like a really nice solution, thank you. What does the +17,20 do? Is it telling it how many chars to print after 'locIfReason.10 ='?

Can I truncate the message to show just a part of the message? Something like varBinds ${vbData3} ?

This is what I get in the logs on the exact same error: 2019-08-01 14:46:26,932 [157] (29) ERROR SolarWinds.Orion.Web.Filters.CatchUnhandledExceptionFilterAttribute - (null) Error when calling action on url: http://localhost/sapi/ThwackPollers/StoreCredentials. From my experience that is what it does, but it really isn't helpful at all. Most messages contain a lot of useless information that just clutters things up if you display it as a whole.

I don't remember checking the box for LA. The notification isn't only annoying and a resource hog, but could cause trouble in case of an audit.

I have the same problem in 2019.4, so I don't think any upgrade will solve this. And 2019.4 installed Log Analyzer because some of the functionality in it has been included in NPM, but as a result I have that horrible banner that takes 200 ms to load (just that banner) and a client angry as hell that quote "we installed…

I don't quite understand what you are proposing, there is no way of making the trigger extract the substring I want, that is why I am using an external script. What I am trying to do is out of a trap like this: IF-MIB:linkDown : sysUpTime = 3 hours 11 minutes 44.96 seconds, ifIndex.10 = 10, ifDescr.10 = Tunnel11, ifType.10…

So this seems like a bug, I changed the AlertObjectID in the AlertHistory table from the database to match the latest ID associated with the respective neighbor on that node and now I can see all the instances of that alert triggered on the node.

Are there any plans to integrate the old snmp trap varbinds variables in this release?
-
Is there any chance this might work with a local instance of openstreet map?

When will the substring extraction be ready? I am on 2019.4 RC1 and I have an urgent request from a client to extract a substrings from traps and I can find no way of doing it yet, even though I can find the trap text parsed as key:value in the database.

Solved using the tool migration.exe /hide=LM:1
