Am I missing where we submit the week 1 phrase? I'm not seeing it available in any of the tracks yet. Do we message someone? Did I miss something in the instructions?

Mustafa Topaloglu, we don't use IBM blades, but I could see where this could be useful. Hopefully there is something SolarWinds can do to get hardware as they do with Dell or HP.

good job. Still no luck here. I've read the blog post more times than I can count to the point it's almost committed to memory.

I demand a recount!!!! j/k congrats bvinson Congrats jhay317 and all the other daily winners.

We actually had a client I was working with at an IT services company that came to us that had run through that issue (breached before they took action). With their permission we used that as a way to lead into that type of conversations with other clients and new clients we were taking on. Currently with the job I'm in,…

That's part of the mission. We have to figure it out. Those who are able to get to submit for the drawing.

We capture CPU to make sure that the server doesn't trend out at 100%, but one thing we've run into oftentimes is our DBAs will configure SQL to take almost 99.5% of the available memory on the server leaving very little for the OS and other applications to run. However, when we've configured SQL properly and watch the…

Some of the most important factors we look at are scalability, ease of accessing data, and how it "fits" with the other tools we are already using. If the tool cannot scale well with our growing environment, or if upgrading the tool is tedious in order for it to scale, then that is one roadblock. If the data collected is…

This would be a good feature if it's tethered to the data gathered in EOC to see the last 24 hours. I'd think anything longer and you'd run into reports that take way too long to run.
-
We did something similar and just used that built in admin as a tech account.
-
You should be able to do this with advanced SQL which can be done in both the report writer and the new web based reports.

Badges are awesome. We need a bacon badge. Thwack bacon-ator. No points, just bacon.
-
I think we need a consolation prize. A shirt that says 'I participated in the thwack monthly mission and all I got was points, a badge, and this T-shirt'

Installed the RTM yesterday on our production environment and found a couple of issues I didn't anticipate as I didn't have some of the same things in my test environment where the RC was running. Opened a couple of issues with support. Biggest issue is with the web alerts causing issues due to an email address we have to…

I had to follow based on the click here for help redirect before I saw the post.

Congratulations kevincrouch4

Thanks for the link. I'll keep this handy. It's been a fun task trying to get the DBA's to understand that SQL doesn't need to have close to 100% allocation of physical memory. I mean I know they want it to perform well, but that's a bit much for anything.

Just completed. Like where things are headed, but I feel that too many submenus to go through might be a bit frustrating.

We haven't yet started into the user experience portion of website monitoring, though there has been talk. Right now we are only worried about site availability, which we do through monitors using Server & Application Monitor.
-
Why not just disable the alert for that time period then?
-
Unfortunately with the upgrade to our production environment, due to the alerting changes, so of our reports no longer pull data. With the change out of the previously used tables, I'm now having to try to locate how to rebuild our reports for after hours alerts and on-call alerts that triggered after hours. Not a fun hunt…

I think this is a long needed feature for the product.

Missions = Good things to do during downtime at work.

I agree. It took me forever to figure out yesterday's answer.

I think the code may be a bit off today for Q10. It's not matching the number of lines. Almost like it's missing a number.
-
Congratulations to the winners.

Just got this installed with one test switch, checking out the new things now.

We are just now starting to wade back into this pond and are in the midst of defining needs and a solution to use. There are many on the table, both SolarWinds and non-SolarWinds. We'll just have to see what meets the requirements best once those are defined.

It took a bit, but it is in the doc under the hint, just not worded in the same way as the fill in the blank.
