It's probably not something that they've setup to change. Probably something hard coded in the software.

More than likely it's a node custom property. Go into Settings, Manage Custom Properies and see if you have those two values. You should be able to edit the values for the devices you need to change that way as well.

If you are wanting this to be a simple text field, you could try using an IPAM custom property.

Usually a critical or warning are based on a statistical threshold being met where down is due to non operational as Bronx points out.

This is usually within the standard views. In the Orion Summary Home, you have a node list of all monitored switches, routers, servers, etc that you are monitoring. When you select any of these, you'll be taken to the Node Details page. On there is a custom object chart or multi-series chart. You can edit this and choose…

I completely have to disagree. I've been apart of this forum for quite a long time and have not had any issues with either the layout or finding information. There have been some growing pains, but anyone who expects 100% perfection has a skewed sense of things; nothing is 100% flawless. I've yet to run into a time where…

Currently device type is controlled by code so it cannot be directly edited. What you can do, though, is for the members of the group, if there is a general view they want for all devices, you can assign that to them in manage accounts in the Orion General settings rather than leaving it as By Device Type. Just note that…

Looks like a bad poller or bad MIB being used. I'd recommend opening a support case, but I doubt it's affecting your polling. Regards, Matthew Harvey Loop1 Systems

Paulo, You will want to uninstall IPAM before proceeding with your upgrade. This will ensure that there is no version conflict with this module and the latest version of Orion. After the uninstall completes, the configuration wizard will auto-launch. Run through this to reconfigure your system without IPAM. Once complete,…

You're best bet would be to use the snmpwalk.exe tool in the install directory on that device, then try to match the values with the temp readings you see on the device at the time you run the walk. This would give you the OID to use to create a poller for SolarWinds to begin collecting this data.

There should be a search for text option as part of the monitor that you can add what would be seen in the event of an error and enable the fail if found option. Matthew Harvey Loop 1 Systems

Best option would be to create a historical traffic report grabbing both the average and max, in the filter tab, setup the ports you want to include, and for timeframe put 24 hours. Using the canned templates for this should get you what you need. Regards.

The RFC Mibs used for this do not take into account virtual memory. The first of the MIBs looks at total physical memory on the device. The second is a combination of total memory used by all the processes running on the device. This value is used in combination with the first to show total memory utilization. The MIBs…

From what I can tell, there is no way to do that. I'd imagine if you change the scope names on the DHCP server, it may update the scopes on the next scan. Otherwise from what I can tell, you'd have to edit each scope individually to change the name.

I'd recommend using the UDT Compatability checker tool on the server in the UDT install directory. You can use this to test if the device supports the requests that UDT is going to ask. There's not much you can add or remove to that. The file is in C:\inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion\NetPerfMon. It's an aspx and it's not really designed to have things added. You can remove things though from it.

You would have to use Trap Rules and actions to trigger on specific trap information. From there you could use variables to get the information you are looking for. There is, however, no way to have the trap change the node or hardware status.
-
Is this a view that you created? What resources did you add to the view? Or is this the left tab on a node details page?
-
You would have to create a group that is only made up of components. What you would do is create a new group and when you get to Add Orion Objects, set the Show Only dropdown to Components or Applications. You can even set it to Hardware sensors that you may be monitoring on servers. Regards, Matthew Harvey Loop1 Systems…

For NTA to collect data, you must configure NetFlow or Flow on your network routers, not on your computers. Once this is configured on your routers, and they are being managed by NPM/NTA, then any traffic going through will be tracked down to the machine level. Regards, Matthew Harvey Loop1 Systems…

The only other option than what aLTeReGo mentions would be to disable the alerts during the outage window or disable the alert actions until you have confirmation that all systems are back up from the outage. You do run the risk of missing alerts on other devices though.

The protocol that Network Atlas is using is http, so it's not going to know to route to a share. you could try putting \\n$\Myfiles\showmemap, but even that might not work. The actual design of the Hyperlink is to link to either another page on the SolarWinds website or another URL I believe.

InterfaceSpeed = 10000000000 might do the trick in a resource filter.

If you are using WMI, then it's running WQL queries to see what the device supports where SNMP uses OIDs. What I'd first recommend is making sure, if you are using WMI, that connectivity is allowed between the systems. This link should be able to help with that:…

I'm assuming you are using an account that's a part of the other domain in order to do this search? Can you provide a screenshot of the error as you see it?

If you have NPM as well then it may be in the Orion Report Scheduler. This can be found in Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Alerting, Mapping, and Reporting. When you open this, you should be able to see the jobs, from there you can edit the job and change the person or persons the email is sent to. regards,…

The fields being used are the bandwidth and traffic fields. The receive traffic is divided by the bandwidth to get the percent utilization. If the number is a decimal, then of it's .4 or below, it rounds down. The receive and transmit bandwidth are pulled from the speed value that the device reports to NPM. Yes, it is…

If they can't see if from within the ticket itself, then I don't believe there's a way to show them. However this would be a good feature request

I can't in Chrome, but IE seems to work (who'd ever think someone would ever say that)

If you have config archiving set up, then they are already saved to the config archive directory on the NCM server as files that can be opened using notepad.
