How long after you perform the scan? I'd be more apt to thinking it's something wrong with the install. You may want to do the uninstall/reinstall to see if that resolves it. All you information will still be in the database. If things still fail, I'd recommend requesting escalation from support.

OK that would point to a connection timeout. I'm assuming the database and application servers are in the same location. An old schole trick that used to work on the SolarWinds server was finding the SWNetPerfMon.db file, opening it in notepad and changing the software's connection and command timeouts from 20 and 90 to…

No on both. If you uinstall and reinstall it on the same server, it's going to simply add as a module. If you try on a separate server, it will be it's own app separate from the SolarWinds website. There's no way to integrate it without having it installed as a module using the same database.

We are upgrading our systems and hadn't seen anything to speak of. Usually with a service release like 10.4.1, the intent is a release solely designed at addressing issues from the full release, in this case 10.4. Regards, Matthew Harvey Loop1 Systems

@vinay by, From what I've seen it seems to work as Component is critical - check for time of day - within specified window Component is UP - check for time of day of the found triggered event (is it within the specified timeframe) - fire a reset if true. I don't know that this was the designed behavior, but definitely it's…

Usually there are dependencies tied to the Information service, Job Engine, and Job Scheduler. You may have to uninstall and reinstall those components even after rerunning the configuration wizard to remove those dependencies. Regards, Matthew Harvey Loop1 Systems

Group creation would be in the website under Settings > Manage Groups if available.
-
There's no simple way to do that, as there's nothing in the database that would be able to pull that by region. The closest you could get would be to create a group (if you are on version 10.3 or later) and then report on group availability. This is different from using custom properties and is calculated separately from…

This can sometimes be attributed to a resource on the page trying to load but running into issues. If you go to Manage Views, and edit the Node Details View, check out the resources on the page. If there are several that you don't normally utilize, remove them. If you are unsure, copy the node details page, edit the copy,…

Ah ok, so they did start incorporating these into the alerting as well as the website. Thanks for the new information borgan.

You can leave the services running on the primary while you update the secondary. You'll get a message about services running but you should be fine. The easiest ways to validate the upgrade are looking in Programs and Features along with the footer of the website once the configuration wizard is complete.

If you are using the custom table option in the report, then just make sure the columns selected are just the node name, ip, and Machine Type. Remove any information you don't want out of the table by removing the column.

I was actually looking for a Thwack feature request forum before posting this. That's something that would also be helpful.

shalinz, I have a similar issue with emails that have a # in them. Seems as the web alerting is reading them as HTML and having issues. I've opened a case with SolarWinds and development is looking into it. The only work around I was given was to have support assist me with moving back to the GUI based Alert Manager until…

From what I can tell yes, it looks like it pulled other installer files over. I did, however specify it in a rule I created to be on the safe side. I did find a log, and this is what I'm seeing. Not sure if it helps: 2019-01-22 11:31:59,080 [18] DEBUG (null) SolarWinds.Administration.Downloader.ChecksumVerifier - Computed…

When a SW employee recommends posting something as a feature request, then I'm going to take that recommendation. If there is a similar request out there that's fine, they could have pointed that out as well

voted up (don't forget to vote for it yourself).

ashley.cotter I can see how this could be beneficial. Thank you for sharing what you've setup along with the SQL you're using in the resources. I can apply this to some views we are setting up for our different teams.
-
Thanks for sharing this. I hadn't heard a word on my support case.

cahunt that process will only kick off when a job is running. The worker process are meant to start and die as needed for the jobs being performance by the job engine.
-
Tony Vispetto I couldn't have put that any better.

stevenstadel posted a link in an earlier reply that has what's in the fix. I'll post it again Orion Platform 2017.3 Hotfix 2 - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support

I'll install in on my dev deployment now and let you know

Thanks for the heads up. I just finished creating SAM components to monitor these via WQL and Windows Performance counters, however, it's definitely not ideal.
-
Thanks aLTeReGo. I appreciate the reply. In the meantime I'm having to build out WMI monitors for this. Not the most fun use of my time, but hey, it's a workaround at least. I do have a dev environment with the same issue so I am willing to test out any possible fixes that the developers come up with. I'm none too…

David, It's not a matter of configuring SolarWinds. If you are on NPM v10.4, this should be something you can get on Cisco gear when you do a list resources on the device. For Windows servers, you'd also have to have the SAM Module. Regards, Matthew Harvey Loop1 Systems

Ok, case just opened. 770376.

Not for the variables. I just uncovered that issue. I can open a case though.

Daniel, thank you for this information. This is exactly what I needed to know.
