As more and more providers are moving to Gb and devices are moving into fiber optic, this is becoming a needed feature within SolarWinds to be able to compete in more than just bandwidth monitoring.
-
It would be nice to have more scalability on a single polling engine.

I'd like to call dibs on such fabulous prizes....also, thank you maria.bungau and DanielleH for the work you guys did last week to get those questions back up and operational. Just shows ya'lls continued dedication to dealing with those of us with way too much free time on the forums.

I'd go with Baconator. Burninator is too Strong-Bad and Trodgor dragon homestarrunner strong bad trogdor homestar - YouTube

We are going to be having to build some out now to be able to separate issues between apps team and server teams. Right now everything trickles to the server team and it's up to them to move it to the correct teams based on the issue on the server. We're looking at ways depending on our alerts and ticketing system to route…

good question. I didn't think about that. very important to have.

Fortunately we've never run into a scenario since I've come on board that someone is blaming the storage as the problem. So far it's all been requests for more storage rather than figure out a problem. Rather than say, hey what could be filling up the drive and is it needed it becomes, hey just add more storage to it so we…

While it would be cool to see, I don't think SolarWinds would have the power to integrate with a product like WireShark that they don't own.

you're putting in the wrong answer then. It won't let you move past until you enter the correct answer.

Good information. I feel that logging sometimes gets both overlooked and some times too much attention. A lot of it needs to be on a case by case basis I'd think.

When is today's (12/9) quiz going to re-open?

It won't let you move past until you have the correct answer.

Not a problem. Was just curious. It's quite addictive to play and when you don't get your fix, you start getting paranoid, and worried, and ......well you know.

I have to agree with both michael stump and byrona. I've been in situations where this has happened and when/if the time comes to get things back in sync with the standards, you end up running into more obstacles.

Me too. I want one. On a side note, should I be worried that I've been able to answer most of these without clicking on the hints? I think I use these products too much. Is there a support group? SolarWinds Anonymous?

I agree. With all the updates and new features that have been coming, this, I feel, is log overdue. There seem to be, from what I can tell enough use cases regarding pollers for DCHP servers in DMZs, load balancing, etc where this would be a welcome added addition.

I just found an interesting little hiccup. Seems I can no longer update multiple custom property values anymore after the upgrade. I'll get into the Custom Property Editor, select a handful of devices, set the value, click save change and when the screen refreshes, the new values are not applied.

Bookmarking this to file for read after work. Some very good information I'll need to keep in my toolbelt of IT.

Thanks for sharing, having it at the end of the wizard leaves it a bit hard to find, plus it would be nice to be able to configure it per sensor.
-
Another extremely useful post. Thank you for contributing this information.

The points will get rewarded, they always do and an announcement is always posted when they are. Let's all just have some patience.

I've had to read a couple of questions twice in order to make sure I've been reading it right.
-
Ah, was not aware of that. Wish there was a way to combine similar feature requests into 1. Thanks for the heads up.

and especially in the mid-size market it can go to show that your as vulnerable, and not quite as hidden as you perceive.

Very good information. I'll have to check with our Linux guys to see what we're doing, but there's a lot of very good information here, thanks for sharing.

So far I've upgraded Chrome and disabled extensions that aren't being used and I'm testing to positive results. Flippin' Chrome.

The problem with this would be passing the authentication. As EOC is passing going to the AD server, this would cause a problem with complete passthrough as the srever could not communicate with the other AD server. I could see this as something that could be done, if the developers incorporated Orion type logins rather…

I don't think you're way off but if memory serves, don't you have to have WSUS for SolarWinds Patch Manager? I mean they seem to be hand in hand. Granted I'm working off memory on that.

I've been trying to get this with the latest betas of NPM, SAM, and SRM, but after the install and configuration I've had no success. I can get the website to login, but the page afterwards is blank. The auto-launch for the website does not work, and the business layer is filled with errors regarding various modules timing…
