Thanks for the input. I will run by the team as we are finalizing our list for the new release. Stay tuned.

Hey Russ, NTA 4.01 Beta has drag & drop Charts for NetFlow views. Try out the NTA 4.1 Beta and let me know what you think. Marcus
-
Reporting is high on the list. I have a couple of dependencies that should release in core that will allow us to address our reporting and alerting.
-
Just for you Mustafa: NTA 4.1 Beta * Improved automatic sample rate recognition (especially Juniper devices) * Users are able to set sample flow rate manually (in case automatic recognition fails) * Ability to configure Cisco devices from the NTA Web UI * Charts drag & drop adopted for NetFlow views * Support of 8-bit ToS…
-
Hello Mustafa, Yes you are correct, but we are looking at adding support for those flow technologies. Hope that clears it up. Marcus
-
CIsco AVC with NBAR2 support is one of the technologies that we are testing right now, just have not nailed down the specifics. Look for an update in the coming weeks as we finalize the release. Marcus
-
Still to early to say whether we will have support Cisco WLAN SSID usage reporting, based on protocol, but be on the look out as we will be dropping a NTA v4.1 beta by the end of next week, week of 6/30 at the latest for trial. Blog post for beta release will be out next week.

I was trying to lab this up to see if I could get it to work but that functionality is restricted to the NetFlow tab properties. I took it down as a possible feature request. I would suggest you make this a feature request on thwack so that others have the opportunity to vote on it. I use the thwack votes as inputs for…

Same process, but you have to edit the chart style
-
Correcting that port should be the problem. If you are using 9996 for all your devices, a quicker test would be to go to NetFlow settings --> NetFlow Collector Services --> and you can edit the port to 9996 if that is your desired port to use.
-
You will only need to add routers and switches. NTA is only processing NetFlow from the routers and switches that you will be setting up to export flows over to NTA. NTA will have the ability to router on the source & destination IP's so you will be able to see who and what is using your bandwidth.
-
Good to hear. That ip route-cache flow command is pretty old now, but I can never remember when it was deprecated for the 6500s. Glad I could help. Marcus
-
At this point you may just want to get a ticket open with support and upload a pcap of your traffic to see if they can assist you in why your template is not being processed.
-
How would you like to see that data and what would you do with it?
-
If you are looking for Top XX Endpoints, then you need to select the Top XX Endpoints. * Heads up, there are two listed with the same title in the list. If you hover over each one, you will see that one has the classic chart still in its name. Chose the 2nd one as it is a new resource.
-
NTA 4.0 will work on a physical or virtual machine. Check out the FAQ for additional information to assist here.
-
http://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/3197 See the feature request above. Do you think that integration with Active Directory would solve the solution better or add to the complexity?
-
You are correct Sean. Specifically NTA will use your existing MySQL instance to store the CBQoS polled data and all flow data will be installed in the new Flow Storage DB (FSDB)
-
Thanks for the feedback.
-
Azhar, Check out the link below for additional netflow configuration reference. http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/NetFlow/docs/NetFlowDeviceConfiguration.pdf
-
You can get that same report using the new web based reports if you are on NPM 10.7.

Hello Jeffrey, Currently NTA is not able to alert on specific information contained within the flow data. That is high on my list to adopt that capability and adopt the new web alerting framework. Marcus
-
Hello Jorge, It is not an issue with how you are configuring your device, it is that NTA is not properly getting all required fields for report on NetFlow. This is a known feature request and I have added your vote to my internal counts. Thanks Marcus
-
Will, You are not seeing things. Currently NTA does not have that capability on what you are trying to accomplish with triggering alerts. Improved alerting is definitely on our road map just unfortunately, I can not give a specific which release this will be addressed. You should check here for product updates. This site…

Hmm, What browser are you using? Mine is showing up properly on firefox 28.0 and IE 11. You applied both NTA 4.0 HF2 and NPM HF2?
-
Just to add on what Ciaran stated. The key take away is to have your FSDB and SQL server on separate servers. If you have a small deployment, which is sounds like you don't, you could get away with a single box solution. NTA 4.X smallest recommended foot print is 2 servers. One hosting your NPM/NTA/Orion SQL DB and one…

Assuming you have admin rights: Click edit on the resource button and update the number of items you would like the resource to return.

NTA currently does not support Layer 2 netflow, but we are tracking the demand for this feature. I would suggest submitting a feature request to help gain visibility for the need of this feature.

Other than troubleshooting, how do you make use of your flow data? * For QoS validation. In cases where companies outsource QoS deployment to the ISPs, NetFlow is great to validate whether the service provider is classifying your traffic per contract. How often do you look at flow data summaries, and in what form…
