Agreed don't ever remember that and I've been on since 6. I'm on 10.2.2 now and it doesn't exist.
-
Good to know..thx

The utility I am using is called YRefresher a quick google search will find it. It says it is written for IE4 (been out a long time) but I have been using it with IE6 and IE7 for over a year with no issues.
-
FYI I have no add-ons and it just happened again. I have exclusively used chrome and never saw this problem until Wednesday.
-
If it is your server and you do want traps sent then I would turn off the Auth Failure checkbox on the settings.
-
Your best bet is to look at the MIB to see what information is available. With any luck you should be able to create custom pollers telling you trunks are down or taking errors.
-
Yeah you are right you still can't evaluate the text. You would have to write into your query the database names that currently exist and then output a 1 or something to show a change along with a message text showing what had changed. Are there any event logs created when a DB is added or removed? That might be another…

Bryon is this working? I need to setup something very similar over the weekend.
-
I ended up writing a report to capture any discrepancies but decided not to automate the correction of the names.
-
Gotcha...what's really weird is 7.0.2 fixed this issue for us...and I have deleted several nodes since without issue...This most recent delete is where it reared it's ugly head again.
-
This doesn't help in the updating, but I wrote a report that I have scheduled to run monthly that lists all of the discrepancies where the caption and host name do not match. I have this sent to my other admin who then goes through and updates Solarwinds. I too would prefer an option to make this automatic, of course you…

you want to know what's really funny. Guess which tool our DBAs used to find the slowness. Confio which I show was acquired by SolarWinds yesterday. So here is the question SW. Are you going to sell this product or will you also use it to improve your product line (drink your own kool-aid so to speak)?
-
So you exceed your license and you can't delete items to let you get back into compliance with your license? That seems troubling.
-
Joe, Keep in mind that even if the service is disabled the messages are still transmitting through your network to your server. If you don't utilize trapping period I would disable the node(s) that are sending it in. Like an access list you want to stop the traffic as close to the source. If you don't a future upgrade of…

After thinking about it a little more, I think it may be possible to do this with a VB script if you're willing to take the dive. Depending on your comfort level with VB, you could write a script that updates a file(s) that will track whether the trigger has fired. It's probably more trouble than it's worth but I figured…

Doesn't seem odd to me as EIGRP is cisco proprietary....Just my two cents.
-
Run as admin just worked for me on a 2012 server.
-
As far as I know it can't be done I agree it would be very valuable if it could perhaps it's stored as a variable that could be called. Maybe you could have someone review this thread?
-
No I think in this case it's more having a dedicated view for an application with a subset of dedicated pages for components. So if I built a specific app view I could alter it's component subpages without changing all.

Andrew thank you. The real reason this is such a problem for me is the duplicate nodes. I have switches with anywhere from 1-10 IP addresses. Only one of which I want in monitoring so I have to go find the specific ones I don't want. A potential work around I'm considering is cleaning up my network and then rescheduling…
-
So I have to duplicate user accounts across 9 different Orion servers??? Great.
-
Especially considering the SNMP traps module unlike alerts doesn't have a copy function which is a completely different level of frustration to begin with.

Ticket #292321 Support asked me to restart services which I cannot do at the moment (nor do I feel necessary). No immediate answers while on the phone with support. They have me gathering data. Here is what I am sending them. Here are the full trap details from a trap that is currently broken (I intentionally set the alert…

I was referring to the player (external) being able to report back to the poller. Or does SEUM pull the data in from the players.
-
Opened support case 282534 to hopefully resolve this issue.
-
dnerdahl SolarWinds support found the issue lies with some WPM dlls and has provided a buddy drop. I'll be putting that in during next weeks change cycle. Just curious if you have found any more on your issues or if perhaps you also utilize WPM.
-
So ET we continue to have the issues even after a full re-install of the application and all services. A coworker of mine opened a support case just a few minutes ago. Case #543306 - "Info Service V3 Memory Leak"
-
So an update on this entire thing. Information service somehow became corrupt last night. All attempts to repair failed (config wizard, repair of core services, build of new db) we had to do a full application uninstall reinstall of everything SW related. I will monitor over the next few days to see if the behavior…

The system memory is not contested because when it hits around 1.3Gb for that service it hangs and I'm forced to restart it or the SolarWinds webui is down.
-
Funny...that's exactly what I suggested yesterday :) After my 3rd call with support for the same problem I started doing that on my own until we got our SQL bottleneck resolved
