  • I totally agree. On a large farm I currently manage I've had to develop approx. 30 different templates to be able to monitor the SharePoint performance as the total number of counters has grown to approx. 20000 for this farm. (This doesn't make any sense anymore!)

  • The SharePoint 2007 farm consists of 8 servers (4 frontends, 4 backend and a 5 node SQL cluster with 8 instances.) We have 28 application pools on each of the nodes, so you can imagine how this explodes the components. The components are all set according to the list below.…
