Try this: Change the name of the internal node to ***** - Internal (***** is the current name) Add the node again as an External node and use the external IP address and the name ***** - External. Assign an HTTP or HTTPS monitor to the external node. Use the proxy settings that work from a browser on the Orion server.…

Do you have a router platform you can use instead of the switch?
-
I'd start with a packet capture on the linux device. This will give some insight into what is being polled. Also a packet cap from the Orion server would be useful.
-
This functionallity doesn't exist today except throught SQL queries in Report Writer. It highly requested though and on my roadmap.
-
I'm checking on this one.
-
Is the output of the custom poller scalar? If so, I think we can figure it out. If it is tabular it can't be done.
-
Because almost all circuits are full duplex Xmit + Recv doesn't provide useful information.
-
You could make a custom property for "VPN Device" an exclude these devices in the alert.

Hi Andrew, You are correct that ip route-cache flow = ip flow ingress but ip route-cache flow enables ingress on all configured subinterfaces. I prefer ip flow ingress as you can also add egress if needed. Check out this thread as well. Andy

Can you post a screen shot of what you are seeing?
-
What you are seeing is the present value of the runt counter. I used to clear the counter via CLI as it is not typical for the counter to be very active. See your CLI ref manual.
-
Can you post the OID you are polling?
-
Use the Search by IP resource or the Traffic Builder - both will work.
-
Try this Got the local delivery counters but could not find pending submission or Awaiting Directory Lookup
-
You have to specify that you are using a custom poller in the Property to Monitor field of the Advanced Alert Manager Trigger Condition tab. Then alert on the numerical status for blocking.
-
There are virtual server and pool status oids in F5-BIGIP-LOCAL-MIB. I have used the netscalar mib to create vip/server pollers and applied those to advance alerts. It is a bit of work but it does the trick. I'm not sure that this would apply to F5s, but it looks like the same type of solution

Can you explain further on what you are trying to accomplish?
-
If the interface ID is changing then the query will select these as 2 seperate incidences. Can you remove that field and still get the information you need?
-
Is there a reason not to add it to the domain?
-
Please open a ticket so we can investigate.

Use this procedure to check that UDP 514 is open. http://knowledgebase.solarwinds.com/kb/questions/1229/Why+don%27t+I+see+messages+in+my+SysLog+server%3F

There are some great ones in the Content Exchange area. I have found that sorting on the number of downloads bubbles the best ones to the top. Here is the link. http://thwack.com/media/40/orion-npm-content/orion-custom-reports/?Sort=Downloads You can customize these to your needs. This Technical Reference gives some…

This may just be a math issue. If the servers are seen down for 6 minutes during the reboot (this is a bit generous, most will reboot faster) Then the down time for the month will come out to .013% which rounds up to 100%. to have a 99% or less uptime the servers would have to be down 44 minutes a month, or several hours a…

There are probably multiple components being triggered. Does the alert message tell you which component triggered?
-
nchandy, Are the "...last message repeated XXXX times" messages incrementing by one each time? Andy
-
Hi Stacy, Unfortunately, we're not able to give that level of information out. If you just let us know what the feature is and how important it is to you, say on a 1-10 scale, we can take that into account. Andy
-
When you go into create a new poller select the device on the right and browse the MIB on the left to get to that OID. Once you have it highlighted click on Select.
-
What type of equipment? We do a good deal of IBM out of the box.
-
Why do you use a none qualifier on the caption contains? Aren't you interested in file systems with "Paging"? I don't get why that line is necessary.
-
That may be due to the failure to create an IP SLA operation. Did you only use the one manually created operation?
