What are the suppression rules?
-
Engineer's Toolset v.10 does this well with the Switch Port Mapper.
-
I took the built in top 100 apps report and applied the filters you see here. Then I changed it to top 1 from top 100. I can't test this here but I think it will do the trick. Here is a tech ref on Report Writer.

We don't have a definitive list but it will configure most Cisco routers, not switches. It is a Cisco only tool.
-
Hot fixes are rolled up into the next release so you'll be ok
-
You are probably better off moving to an advanced alert. Use the same alert with an "and" condition and create a custom property of yes/no type with the property name of not ESX. Then click Nodes and check off the nodes
-
Can you open a ticket on this and post back with the ticket number and results? Thanks - Andy

It refreshes every 5 seconds by default and is registery settable.

The abilities of VM Monitor are built into NPM 9.5

UnDP doesn't create graphs and has some issues with tabular data. I'll move this one the the feature request area so a Product Manager can check it.
-
I would do this with a Custom Property. I created the Custom Property "Ignor Util" and marked just the two interfaces to ignore for high util and made the following alert. I have seperated out xmit fron recv because almost all interfaces are full duplex so adding in+out gives a meaningless number.
-
Sure. Just create an Advanced Alert with the trigger condition of "Node Name is equal to abc", where abc is your device name. Then go to the Time of day tab and specify the time and days you need it sent. Then create an email action with a message var string something like "Device ${NodeName} is ${Status}" On the General…

Hi Dave - Can you add a couple of screen shots showing this? I am having trouble picturing exactly which resources you are describing. Andy
-
Hi msouth, Sorrry to see that one did not work. Support can help you with this. Andy
-
Actually do like the below but make the condition "Alert me when any..." rather than "all".
-
Either way will work. We have had a lot of customer upgrade with no problem, and some had issues. I would review the user feedback on upgrades and follow the upgrade path carefully. With a new install you will have to copy over reports, settings etc and that can be fairly complicated.

These 2 Tech refs should get you there. If you are on NPM 10.1 or greater interfaces are implicitly dependent on the node status, so you don't need suppression there. For the Router B case you should build a service group that is dependent on the head end router.…

A couple of things you can do. 1- Check a packet capture from the NTA server interface and look for template packets. 2 - If you do see templates make sure they are being exported every minute. The default 30 minutes will cause the error you are seeing. Use the template data timeout 60 command
-
Are you using individual services monitor templates for each service? (each template has only one service). Can you share what your templates are like?
-
Sounds like a SQL based alert to me. Maybe one of our SQL guru users can chime in?
-
In NetFlow Settings under Applications and Service Ports choose "Enable All Monitoring" or "Monitor all Ports" depending on the version you have. Andy
-
Find the IP of the host and do a Search by IP Address from the NetFlow Summary page.
-
I can't duplicate this on my test machine. What version of NTA and NPM are you running? Was this from a print preview?
-
Hi d-moore, how is memory doing with the Netflow service running? Sounds like you have the potential for a large flow rate which can eat up resources. Andy
-
I'd recommend a ticket on that one.
-
No, the uncompressed data is removed when compression is performed.
-
The Rugged equipment is setting up SNMPv3, so you will need to add the devices to Orion as SNMPv3 also. Here is a paper on Implementing SNMPv3. Andy
-
I would use a Custom Property for the nodes and use that Property in the report criteria.
-
Can you open a ticket and post the results back here? Thanks
