If it also sends them in syslog you could use that.

Nortel only supports IPFIX on the 5500 and 8600 models

Hello - Welcome to thwack and Solarwinds! You can add APM templates to nodes using application discovery or you can add them manually. See pg 16 in the APM Admin Guide for details. Let me know if you need more assistance - here to help. Andy

No, SNMP was only implemented in ESXi for traps.
-
I think this is what you are looking for. In Settings go to Manage Accounts, select the customer account, click edit and assign the view as seen in this screenshot. The view name I used is just a test one, it does not come w/ NPM. Andy

NTA is licensed to match the NPM license count. You'll need to get NTA for SLX.

Please open a ticket on this one.

Could be a few things. Can you open a ticket?

Create a group of "all" monitored devices and make the others dependent on the "all" group being up. Status of "all" should be set to 'worst'.

Hi Dave, I would install 9.1 on the new hardware using the 9.1 DB and then upgrade. 9.5 requires CLR (not supported in 9.1) and has some schema changes that will not be happy with a 9.1 DB.

Hello, The NPM Admin Guide has a section on this. Here is the short answer from there. The longer version starts at page 101. Basically, the warning time is set of 120 seconds but you can change it if needed. The node will not be marked as down until the warning time expires. Setting the Node Warning Interval A device may…

A good number of our users use an APM stand-alone server to monitor NPM and other critical applications. http://www.solarwinds.com/products/orion/application_monitor/application-performance-monitoring.aspx APM has application templates specific to monitoring NPM, SQL and dozens of other apps.

Looks like that is not a supported feature of that device http://kb.adtran.com/display/2/index.asp?c=12&cpc=BrduHgTSN7q8U34W3REU5Gb07vRy0ko8jy4dp5CbvV82dL&cid=2&cat=1455&catURL=kb%3D1%26L1cid%3D1007%26L2cid%3D1010%26L3cid%3D1455%26level%3D4%26&r=0.1873896

I don't know if you have seen the red book on this one but it is fairly complicated. Here is the red book for AIX 6.1 SNMP v3 ref and a SolarWinds tech ref on SNMP v3. http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/aix/v6r1/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.aix.commadmn/doc/commadmndita/snmpv3_genkeys.htm…

Hi jswan, Advanced NTA search is on the roadmap. Today you would do it via sql. Andy
-
No, not at this time
-
I think syslog or trap is the way to go on this one. I don't believe Advanced Alerts is capable of this due primarily due to the type of data it uses, polled data. If the polling interval and flapping interval aligned, you would run risk of missing all the flapping.
-
The thresholds are environment sensitive so you set them to fit your case. If we set them to some arbitrary level that could give you a false sense that they are automatically correct for each user.
-
A couple of things to look at: How much free memory do you have on the Orion box? Is the server paging? Same on the SQL box but also note the avg disk queue length.
-
Are you adding the correct read/write credetentials? NPM only requires read only to poll. IP SLAM needs read/write to create operations.
-
Any AP which uses the 802.11 MIB is supported. Maintaining a current list of APs which support 802.11 is pretty much impossible as they change quite often.
-
The Y axis autoscales, so if the interfaces have similar peaks they would have similar Y scales.

Mine is showing a lot of wear after a year of road warrior duty. I love the pack, especially the laptop slide in side zipper. Makes airport security so much faster.
-
Do you have antivirus running on the server? If so make sure the Soalrwinds directory is excluded. http://knowledgebase.solarwinds.com/kb/questions/2124/What+files+and+directories+should+I+exclude+from+antivirus+protection+to+ensure+adequate+file+access+for+Orion+products%3F

Take a look at this Tech Ref

Have you checked in the admin area -> manage nodes of the web and see if they show up there? I always use that area to add devices.

The alert will trigger any time the CPU is detected to be over 35% in a statistics poll. It could peak up past 35% between polls and you will not see it.

OK - Since your Avatar is holding a gun I'll tell you. We process v5 and v9 exports. Devices that use v7 usually have an option to export in v5 format also. Andy

We are examining new ways to show data - We'll take this into account. No promisses at this point. Andy
